We purchased children's bedroom furniture recently. The sales rep at Ashley's described the furniture as high quality and built locally. The sample in the showroom certainly matched the description. The child's bedroom furniture consisted of three pieces. A bed frame, a night table and a dresser. The furniture was ordered and delivered to the Ashley warehouse several weeks later. Ashley offered to deliver it (approximate distance 10K) for an additional $300. We declined the offer and picked up the furniture at their warehouse. It was still shrink wrapped. When the furniture was unwrapped and assembled, we discovered that it was not built to the same specifications as the showroom sample we had seen. The bedframe were misaligned, the drawers did not open and close smoothly, cheap veneer strips were glued onto the sides of the night table and dresser to hide the press-wood. The showroom model had no veneer strips and the tops of the dresser and night table were solid pieces and properly mitered. Three pieces delivered; all three pieces poorly manufactured. We returned to the showroom to double-check the furniture, to assure ourselves that it was indeed not built to the same level of quality as what was delivered. We were not mistaken. We informed Ashley of the problem. Their immediate response was to offer to swap out the set for the showroom model and offered a miniscule discount. In lieu of accepting that offer, they informed us that we could return the furniture for a full credit. They refused to pick-up the furniture, unless we paid them a transport fee of $250. Three hundred for delivery and $250 for picking it up. Hummmm. We returned the furniture ourselves and the refund was processed. So why the bad review? During the process, Ashley implied that we were nitpickers. Hardly complimentary given the fact that the furniture that came from the factory was so poorly constructed. Instead of owning the problem, or at least holding the manufacturer accountable for producing a clearly inferior product, Ashley's solution was to offer an insultingly small discount, complain that their customer was being unreasonable, and then had the audacity to charge a fee for picking up the shabby furniture. We believe that Ashley, as a distributor of furniture, has a responsibility to ensure that their suppliers are delivering the same quality of furniture that is in the showroom. Protecting the manufacturer against a legitimate complaint about poor quality just flies in the face of good business practice. We will not return to Ashley nor will we...
Read moreUpdate to my review below. You’d hope that given this review, Ashley would respond with “oh my goodness, I’m sorry to hear this happened. Please reach out to us so we can explore options.” Or any response that shows concern. I trust the response “we don’t have anyone with this name” supports the review left. Ashley furniture. This is the internet. It’s a user name.
Very disappointed with the quality of the furniture and the after sales service. We purchased a bedroom set for $2300 marketed as one of their premium sets. We opted to pick it up when it came in a few weeks later because ashley wanted to charge us $300 for shipping. We live 10 minutes away.
We brought it home and unpackaged it. The bedside table and dresser had trim pieces around the the top that weren’t mitred, the wood filling between the cover and the trim wasn’t even or stained property and worst of all the floor model we saw in store had no trim around the tops. It was a solid piece of stained wood.
The bedside table was wood filler inside the drawers that didn’t fill the gaps in the wood and there was a large gob of it stuffed into a large hole in the drawer. Not a filled nail hole, just a gouge. The wood filler was powdered and all over interior of the drawer. There were scuff marks on the exterior, and rough sections where the wood wasn’t sanded well.
The dresser was the same in terms of the rough wood and trim pieces. One of the drawers was sticky and there was large pools of stain that had pooled on the side of the dresser. At the top where the cover sat on the frame there were 5 deep nail holes that weren’t filled.
The bed. The rails don’t fit together to be flush with the footer, there were rough parts that weren’t sanded properly and the wood was split where they screwed the frame together.
They refused to pick up the furniture without charging me and offered a very small refund to keep the furniture.
The cost in no way matches the quality. I would highly recommend searching online for furniture. Better quality, lower price, free shipping. I for one will never...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I have been looking for a couch for almost two months. When it came down to it, and no matter how many weeks we spent going in and out of this store, Jessica was always there to help. Always answering our questions, and always eager to see us even without knowing whether or not we'd buy the couch. She was never pushy, and I never felt like I was having a decision forced on me, or being rushed or bothered. Since this is our first couch, I wanted it to be right which is why we spent more than a month looking. Jessica made it very easy for us, and we ended up with a couch that we think will be perfect for us.
The fact that it is only going to take 4 to 6 weeks for a CUSTOM couch to arrive is one of the huge reasons why we picked Ashley homestore. They have a gajillion fabric selections as well.
I'll edit this review once the couch arrives.
Thanks again Jessica and Ashley Homestore 🥰
EDIT: MARCH 29 2023
WOW. The couch has arrived, just shy of 4 weeks later and all I can say is WOW. I am so impressed with the way it turned out, and it's even comfier than the version in the store. It turned out absolutely amazing. The delivery driver and his buddy were able to get it in and set up in 30 seconds. Just stunning really. I wish I could give this more than 5 stars!
Big thanks again to Jessica!
We also got the coffee table from Ashley Home Store and it arrived along with the couch. Looks very nice together!
The couch style is Ritchie, medium firmness, regular foam and the fabric is Boucle Ivory. It is deep enough for two people to sleep on together which is part of why we liked this couch design, combined with the wide, flat arms for better leaning and to put things (like...
