A&W Canada — Restaurant in Colwood

I wish I could give 0 stars! My family and I were visiting from Vancouver and decided to go to A&W as it was quiet enough to grab a quick bite. Now we know why! My son was giving a premature positive review of this location when the girl at the front "informed" me he should not be touching the "How did we do today" tablet. When I told her he was giving great reviews I was shot a look of attitude and she walked away. Another employee ran out from the back and said nothing to us. We could not believe we weren't even acknowledged and told it would be a moment. They looked like chickens with their heads cut off with 1 person in the drive through. And maybe 3 people inside waiting for their orders. 1 of which had to return to the counter for his plate. After nearly 5 minutes we chose to walk out. After 1 minute the gentleman behind us with his daughter walked out. And the person from the drive through was told to pull over and wait.... With no one behind them! Coming from a customer service background, this was completely unacceptable. Unless they are so dead all of the time that 4 orders seems like a lunch rush of 100. I am very disappointed and the next time I visit family on the Island I know to come to the McDonalds down the street.

June 18th 2017 Worst fathers day breakfast...

On a work trip to the island from the coast, my colleague and I stopped impulsively at this outlet and I must say it happened to be the best decision ever.

Right from the point we were greeted upon entering till the point we walked out with our bag-full of food, it was the most pleasant experience I have had at any A&W or competitor chains.

The entire staff worked very amicably towards creating a solution for us as we were on a time crunch. My genuine appreciation to the entire the team and especially for Rhianna who coordinated our order immaculately and was an absolute delight, contrary to most counterparts at other food chains.

Our burgers- Bacon cheddar uncle burger and Double teen dressed as the bacon cheddar (because we needed a quick flip and didn't have the time to wait on a fresh call) tasted amazing as A&W probably intended it to be. This review isn't for the food but for the location and I really feel that a lot of older ratings and comments have effected the overall score, but I'm sure that can be turned around.

New ownership, management and staff; please give yourselves a pat on your backs. You're doing a fabulous...

Came through the drive thru to pick up a mobile order. While waiting in line I watched the employee hand an order out the window to the vehicle in front of me. After a few minutes the order was handed back through the window and another order was given.

When I got to the window, the employee was re-closing a bag that had clearly been opened and then handed the bag to me. The bag was ripped as though the sticker had already been tripped off and the bag opened.

Not sure if your staff are aware or not, but if you hand an order out to someone and it ends up being wrong, you can’t simply hand that same order to the right customer. The bag had been opened and the order can no longer be served to another customer. When I asked, you paused hesitantly and insisted that I did not just witness you hand the order to someone else and then take it back and reseal the bag.

Kind of disturbing that you don’t insist your staff follow food safety protocols and lie to your customers when they are asked about it.

Didn’t end up eating the order and will not return to this location. Waste of time and money - but at least we still supported your...
