Katie is one of my favorite massage therapists in Winnipeg, and I've seen a number of therapists. She provides very firm pressure, which is often what my body needs in order to release tension. She always intuitively finds the right spots to massage. She's especially skilled at neck massages, and getting into the front of the next where a lot of other therapists may not be comfortable going to. I've found this massage very helpful for my chronic neck tension. She also provides exercise recommendations to help you heal in between massages.
I've also been to Dr Wang for acupuncture and she is great. She does 30min of dry needling and 30min of fire cupping. I find the dry needing a bit too painful for my body but it is definitely effective. I was having numbness in my arms every night and she was able to fix it.
The Clinic is very clean and has a comfortable atmosphere.
My only recommendation for the clinic would be to provide patients with some kind of device or Bell they can use to call for help if they are in an acupuncture treatment and experience pain or discomfort. The doctor comes back to check on you but sometimes there could be 10min where a needle is bothersome and you have no way to call for attention. Other clinics I've been to have provided a bell in my hand or a button that rings the front desk. Even if it is never needed, it is comforting to...
Read moreI had a shoulder injury over a year ago. I had lots of pain and I could't use my left arm very much. When I went to sleep, I woke everytime I was on the injured side. I tried physio and other massage but they were not effective. I remembered I had previous successful visits to Accumassage for back acupenture. I booked my first appointment with Ann Kawai Fung in June and I have been seeing her since. I was impressed by her professionalism and touched by her concern to see me get a better range of motion and minimise the pain. I could tell she was knowledgeable as well as caring. She gave me new exercises or added to the routines and made sure I practiced them in front of her to see if they were manageable or not. When I couldn't do certain exercises, she was still encouraging and adapted movements accordingly. Now I sleep well and I could do comfortable stretches during wake up and morning exercises. As I do them, I am filled with gratefulness for Ann's support and confidence to see me through this challenge. Thank you, Ann for your...
Read moreI was not pleased with my massage today at all. I went for a prenatal massage and the hole wasn't long enough for my belly to start with. I told the massage therapist 3 times where my problem area was and wrote it down. She decided to work every other part of my body almost but the one i wanted. The area she did do she pretty much rubbed the surface which my hubby could of done at home. She continued to try to sell me on acupuncture which i was not interested in hence why i was there for a massage. My problem area was my hips/ lower back and she rubbed my lower back and pushed on my hips. When i went for massage else were 10ish weeks ago he got right into my hips/butt/lower back area and it was a completely different experience. I would not recommended this to anyone else as she couldn't even listen to what i had to say and where i needed it. She "massaged" places i didn't even ask for or say were sore. I left there with more hip pain then i went with and wasted $75 as i now have to go see someone else....
