After visiting this location, I left having had a very unsatisfactory experience. The staff was unaccommodating and rude. We walked in to a restaurant void of customers, with a staff of four young girls. My boyfriend is celiac, and although gluten won't cause him to go into anaphylactic shock, it will certainly cause him discomfort. In an effort to minimize that discomfort, while still enjoying a delicious Blizzard, we very kindly asked if the blizzard machine could just quickly be rinsed with water before mixing our blizzard. Having worked in a Dairy Queen for 3 years, I know this can be done, taking virtually no time at all. Before I could finish asking my question, I was cut off quite rudely by the girl taking our order, saying that no, no special requests involving allergies would be considered, saying that this was a Dairy Queen policy Canada wide and that by accommodating us they would be "guaranteeing that no allergies would be present". She then proceeded to ask me which blizzard had the peanut allergy. I told her that it was not a nut allergy, it was a gluten allergy, and that we didn't want a guarantee, we knew that there could never be a guarantee. Eating out with an allergy is always a risk, which we know, but it never hurts to try and cut down that risk in any way possible. After multiple sighs and dirty looks, the girls told us that the machine had just been cleaned and all they could do for us would be to mix the "allergy" blizzard first. Much to our disappointment, the customer service we experienced left much to be desired. Unfortunately this may be our last visit to the Henderson Highway location, largely due to the way we were treated...
Read moreI went thru the drive thru to get ice cream for my family today. I ordered 2 milkshakes, 2 ice creams, and 2 blizzards. The girl who took my order left the two blizzards on the counter by the drive thru window. She helped the other employee with the orders in the store. I waited about 10 minutes. She finally gave me my order. I mentioned that the blizzards have been sitting too long. She said they were fine. I asked her to turn them upside down as is their practice. She put them in a drink holder and passed them to me. She said she did not have time for this as their was only 2 employees right now and it wasn't her fault. I suggested one employee work the window, while the other the drive thru. She was very annoyed with me. I live approx. 4 minutes away. When I arrived home, the blizzards were thin milkshakes. When the cover came off, it made a mess. Very disappointing. This never happened with the...
Read moreHow lovely a treat! The very thought of one freezing heavy cream through an ice box and serving it as a sweet treat is genius! Most certainly a dish for a nobleman. Thy ordered a marvellous âpeanut buster parfaitâ. Though I shalt state that I was unfamiliar with the herb âpeanutâ, the helpful youth working at the shoppecounter was very helpful in explaining it. He was patient, understanding that in my native of England we do not have this herb. Never the less; I finished it to the very last layer when I was filled. Only complaints from me is that they was expected to consume with a spoon made from a very bright colour and an unusual texture? Surely wooden cutlery isnât unheard of...
