Where else can you find Scottish baps? These are probably the best buns ever for hamburgers. Perfect size & they don't fall apart as you eat. Croissants are amazing: best I have tried on this continent. Multi-grain bread is spectacular. Cinnamon buns are addictive. Every "sweet-tooth" deserves French Toast made with their Chocolate Sourdough at least once. Many items still to be tried. Coffee is smooth. In-front street parking can be a bit iffy, but WBB is worth a short walk from a side street. Great staff who are more than willing to explain ingredients & processes. This bakery is OFF THE CHARTS GOOD! The sourdough rye with the caraway seeds is phenomenal! If you have it toasted with chicken salad you would think you have died and gone to heaven. Every weekend they have some cool different breads. I have tried the potato bread with rosemary...Yeah it is just as good as it sounds. The ladies that work are super nice. I have had some of their desserts and they are incredible. The vanilla cream and custard with phyllo pastry is wicked good! The texture is like a cloud....so yeah staying on the heaven theme. Beautiful, local bakery in the North Kildonan area. The owners are passionate, lovely people, who put much heart and love into their work. Their croissants and baguettes are the best I’ve tried in the city. I dream about their cinnamon buns and their scones. They stay true to their roots and share traditional Scottish and Slovenian baking as well, which makes White Birch really stand out among the crowd of Winnipeg bakeries.
