Market Place by Jason's opened up last yea at the much renovated Sunshine City shopping mall in Ma On Shan. For the first time ever, the community has a proper 'Western' quality supermarket. No longer do you have to venture all the way to City Super in Sha Tin for proper western grocery shopping. The Bakery in the Market Place entrance is very good. Selection is a bit small but quality and range is good. Veggies and fruit on offer are very good but vegetables are oddly arranged within the store. Again, blame this on limited shop space. Meats on offer are ok but to be honest, we still shop elsewhere for better quality meats. While not great, what is available is better quality than what we have ever had before in Ma On Shan. Packaged and canned goods selection is a huge improvement from the past Welcome and Park N Shop supermarkets, wine selection is ok, beer selection is surprisingly very good, matches what you can find anywhere north of Jason's in TST. Checkout experience is very good, lots of counters and the bagging staff are quick and effective - a much better experience than what you often find in terms of long queues and ridiculously bad bagging skills by cashiers at other supermarkets. We have been very pleased with the new Market Place by Jason's. Very happy they have opened up here in Ma On Shan.
