There are many, many great reviews, but reading the few bad ones almost made us skip this tour. Don't let those negative reviews fool you. I'm so thankful that we did not because our 3-hour ATV tour with Outback was one the highlights of our trip!
We started off going through the farm, riding though the jungle crossing rivers and climbing trails. We stopped and learned about the Maleku culture then headed to the Arenal River where we got to stop and get in while they served us fresh pineapple. Next we got to drive on the highway to a spot at the base of the Arenal Volcano where you get to stop and hike up for the most incredible views. We lucked out with the perfect weather and we're able to see to the top of the volcano.
Safety: I rode a double quad with my husband and never felt unsafe at any point and time. The guides provide safety instructions and hand signals. They are consistently checking on all the riders and making sure everyone is having fun and feel comfortable, but without it hindering the more experienced drivers experience. We had every experience level persons at all ages and everyone was able to complete and enjoyed. If you have never driven an off road vehicle or don't feel comfortable in your skills, you may ride with someone, but i wouldn't recommend missing out!
My husband and I love adventure and this did not fall short. You are literally climbing trails in the jungle, crossing over water, and splashing though puddles the whole time. I'm not sure how anyone could not feel the adventure. It never felt slow or incomplete.
Raymond and Frank were so great to work with and made our experience that much more enjoyable. The picture package was well worth the $10 pp. He got candid photos through all the splashes and stops. They are our favorite photos from the vacation. They are professional, clear, and great action shots. Selfies won't be enough. They accept card, but bring cash to better support the local business!...
Read moreDoing a recent visit to La Fortuna We chose to do an ATV excursion. We chose this company as it Fairly good reviews. This ATV excursion is not for novice or beginners at all. The manager is an absolute liar. We were with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law my sister-in-law had never been on ATB before and was given a trial, which was very gentle and we assume that she could do this this is an intermediate level ATB course or excursion as the hills are rocky the downside is the manager of lied to my brother-in-law my sister-in-law attempted, and was able to make it to the first stop where we saw the village they kept pushing her and pushing her and yelling at her to hurry up and hurry up, we were told before the trip by the staff, that this would be a gentle and that we would see Erin all Falls and few other things we were rushed the whole time and even after my sister-in-law was unable to complete this excursion we were rushed and rushed and they kept yelling at my wife to stay close. Stay close. Stay close. They're only concern as money, not safety. This is a very unsafe ATB company as I'm a very experience a TV operator they should not try to push everybody. We actually got on the road to go see the volcano. It was raining and the guy tried to push us and push us to go up to 45 km/h in the pouring down rain. That is very unsafe. My brother-in-law posted on this site and was called by the manager and specifically told that he would refund his wife's money if he would take the review off of the site well that did not happen. That's why I'm posting this just to let you know that they are unscrupulous and they will lie to you to get your money if you were a novice do not take this ATV...
Read moreAmazing Experience with Side-by-Side ATV Tour!
We rented a side-by-side ATV since we were traveling with our 5-year-old, and it turned out to be an incredible adventure. Our guide, Oscar, was exceptional—friendly, helpful, and attentive. He even surprised us with a cake for my son, whose birthday coincided with the tour. That thoughtful gesture made the day even more special. Along the way, Oscar pointed out two sloths and toucans, adding a unique touch to the journey.
The Ride: The ride itself was fantastic, taking us along the scenic Lake Arenal and through the mountains. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate—it was rainy and cloudy, so we couldn’t enjoy the views. However, the experience of the ride more than made up for it.
Stops Along the Way: First Stop: A short trail at the foothills of the mountain. Although the clouds obscured the view, we explored the fascinating rocks formed by lava. Second Stop: Lake Arenal, where we captured a few pictures. Third Stop: A small village showcasing the culture of indigenous people. Final Stop: Another spot to observe wildlife, where we were lucky enough to see two sloths and toucans up close.
Tips for Future Riders: • The tour lasted about 3 hours, and it was well worth the time. • Be prepared to get wet, as rain is common in the area, but it only adds to the adventure!
Overall, it was an amazing experience with wonderful memories to cherish. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re traveling...
