Brewpub Gallows Bird - Tapiola — Local services in Helsinki sub-region

Authentic (English) pub vibe and a brewpub together in a shopping mall- is that even possible? Gallows Bird is a prime example of it and the answer is yes! Firstly the atmosphere is a bit dim and "shady" in all the best ways. They have comfy sofas and armchairs (even next to a fireplace!) inside and during summer (well, even in October if you're up for it) they have a terrace outside on the mall's 'roof'. Service is always friendly and they often have interesting things happening - for example during Easter they had egg hunt at the bar for all visitors and for Halloween there was some decor suitable for the theme.

Last but definitely not least - the beer! They have 10-12 taps (i don't remember) and a few fridges of beers. On tap perhaps 30% is from their own brewery and most others are from Finnish microbreweries. Their own beers are usually a bit more classical (think of rauchbier, helles, stout) but they do also experiment with styles like Triple IPA and barrel-aged stout. Nevertheless, they're all delicious!

Highly recommended! Great pitstop when shopping or passing by the mall or an escape while your partner is out...

Staff very well trained and very polite and helpful.

Car park behind is a bit small and crowded during the day time until evening.

No rednecks at all only snooty well to do Finns.

Good beers but ridiculous don't have nothing to eat at 6 pm just small pack of chips or salt peanuts. Bartender was looking about boring too stay at work and just answer we don't do food here but you can buy outside and bring here 🤣. Outside near the entry door and on the table was a price list of hamburgers.When you sell and customers pay 36€ for a 4 beers you can offer at list a small cups (30 cent.) of peanuts. Hyvää...
