Tl;dr - fancy looks, cannot cook rice, and cannot reasonably accommodate to deviations from the menu due to dietary requirements, just eat at Burger King downstairs. Save your money and time.
I'm really really upset after this meal. Not only am I still hungry after a 45e to 50e set menu, I'm really unhappy after that experience. We ate there as part of a group. My dietary requirements were no pig, the main course of our set menu was iberico ham, so a no go for me. I asked for a sea food or beef alternative that was on their menu leading up to the booking. Upon arrival of the main course, I was served the vegetarian main, a mushroom risotto. I am really upset that to accommodate to any differing dietary requirements, you just serve a vegetarian option. Not only was the risotto not equivalent in nutrition or portion size as the iberico ham, it was half cooked. The rice was on the raw side of "al dente" and serving a large group meant the risotto was tepid when it came time to eat. This was raised to the staff and a fresh, hot, and cooked, version of the risotto was brought out after some delay. I was not alone in this. One other had a similar issue. This was quite embarrassing to seem to be the only ones complaining when the rest of the table kept eating. Everyone had finished their meals by the time our recooked meals arrived. We were offered something on the house to make it up to us. I ordered a drink, but I regret not ordering something that would have filled me up, like the steak. So while I did accept an attempt to recover the situation, there was too much social pressure to actually resolve it for me. Answer this restaurant management, what is a reasonable meat or sea food based substitution that is available on your menu, that equals the iberico ham in termsof cost, nutrition, and portion size? In summary, they seem to be unable or incapable of cooking a reasonably basic dish, and are incapable of properly accommodating dietary requirements that deviate even a little from the norm. Save your money and eat at Burger King downstairs, at least there is consistency and you know you will get a reasonable value meal for the money. I'd be interested to see if Bistro O Mat is capable of redeeming themselves at all — I'll leave it up to the management. As it stands, you are doing a disservice to your staff and customers. It might be time to reconsider your...
Read moreHaving been here twice, for all its good and bad and, in overall it's like coming to a restaurant of a three-star hotel. It definitely hits the mark sometimes with a lesser crowd but alas, come more people, you see service crumbling down. In busy times, sloppy, choppy service and totally overpriced. Mind you, good service and food during let's say weekday ala carte, great (for the food, imo skip their cocktails). Brunch is fine for the price, very good escargots too in main menu.
Edit: After a third visit, they've added an intriquing twist into the tartar which features what seem like regular potato chips shredded on top of the portion. Inventive, not so sure. Suspicious, yes. Not to take away from all the good: the meat was tender and the portion of snails plentiful and delicious. Wine list extensive and of good quality too! Very run-of-the-mill...
Read moreHad dinner with a party of 6: Service lacking (very kind, but unfortunately also quite slow and a bit confused? Not coming to take orders, leaving dirty dishes on the table for a long time and then even forgetting some behind). Food ok, but far from mindblowing or something to remember. Unfortunately the French fries were like something you get at fast food joints, definitely not made from scratch (big minus). I've had dinner & brunch at the old place in Kirkkonummi some years ago and this was nothing like that, I'm sorry to say I was disappointed this time (or maybe my expectations now were too high based on my previous...
