When Kaisan Cafe first opened in the late 80s, I was one of the first customers to walk in. There Kaisa was, smiling and offering the biggest and tastiest cinnamon roll I had ever seen. I instantly became a regular customer. Now, a few decades later, with new owners and location, it's gone through quite a few changes but the cinnamon rolls still remain, let alone many other tasty bakery products. Catering services are also provided; used them many times with no complaints. Although it's still a great cafe, I can't help but miss Kaisa and her husband Raimo sometimes. They brought so many people so much joy and turned a simple cafe visit into something magical.

Kaisan Café is located in Ainoa, floor 1. There are different cakes, sandwiches and quiche. Regular coffee costs 1,8e. The staff is friendly, usually, and there are a good number of tables. Order to take away is possible. There are vegetarian options available. The size of the food is bigger and the coffee is cheaper than other cafes.

Easy café to spot, heard lots of good reviews from this place, especially about its desserts. Good for the price, we ordered a croissant and many desserts to try which we liked best. The coffee wasn’t good though.

We ordered a cake for our wedding and explicitly mentioned in the comments section during the online order that it should be collected at 7:30 AM on the wedding day. Shockingly, our cake was not ready on time, completely ruining our day! We had planned to enjoy the cake on a morning cruise with champagne.

To compensate for their mistake, instead of delivering the cake to our address as soon as possible, they asked us to travel to another city to collect our cake in the evening!

We had to hire a taxi to get our cake. They promised a partial refund but never responded to our emails regarding it. Perhaps they think foreigners do not deserve respect!

A really, really bad experience with...

The waitress with dark long hair is the worst in terms of service and attitude. Literally threw a plate with a cake on the tray and not even looking into the eyes. Talking down to the people like we came there intruding her own home. Feeling like she's treating different customers differently with preference based on their skin color. The coffee is just not good, better just go to other places instead even if it's more expensive. Also really loud, employees keep banging on things with unnecessary vigor. Not coming back...
