After Louis XV donated the old castle of Lectoure to him, Bishop Claude François de Narbonne-Pelet had a large hospital built on the site of the remains from 1758 to 1766, and made modifications to the castle. The collapse of the castle's north bastion occurred after 1824. The south wing and chapel of the hospital were completed between 1808 and 1812; the chapel was decorated by the Lectoure painter Lasseran. New buildings were erected in the 19th century, to the north and south, and the hospital was finally decommissioned in 2013. Read morePas contents du tout d'avoir fait plus de deux heures de route pour trouver porte close le lundi 16 septembre dernier. Nous avions pourtant pris la précaution de vérifier sur le site internet du Village des Brocs qu'il était bien ouvert jour là. Et bien non, c'est un petit écriteau au niveau du portail cadenassé qui nous a appris que le lundi est un jour de fermeture hors vacances scolaires. DÉCEPTION. Et nous n'étions pas les seuls devant ce portail cadenassé. Vérification sur place sur le site internet: noté comme étant ouvert! Honteux que le site ne soit pas à jour quand on sait que la plupart des visiteurs viennent de loin....
