Cigale é Fourmi — Restaurant in Condom

Let me tell you why my wife and I seek this restaurant out each time we visit Lectour. First, the owner and manager is a kind and outgoing gentleman. Our mastery of the French language is still at the beginning stages, and they accommodate with as much English as they have knowledge of, and remain patient with us, which is always appreciated. This most recent time we visited happened to be on a weekend of a very large antique sale that we were unaware of in Lectour and every restaurant was full. On the off chance that they might have a small table out of the way for two I asked the owner if he had availability. After a short 10 minute wait he found us a table and we were able to enjoy a wonderful lunch. Our server was also a very kind young man with a wonderful sense of humor who gave us some great recommendations for drinks, lunch, and dessert. All were amazing. The atmosphere of the restaurant is open and fun. Beautiful views, wonderful food, and glorious drinks all add up to a great experience. That’s what it’s all about right? Having a good experience? That is what you’ll have at this wonderful little restaurant that my wife and I will be going back to again and again during our time...

Brasserie située au centre de Lectoure, adossée à la tour d'Albinhac, le cadre de la terrasse en été est particulièrement agréable. Dans l'assiette, des classiques de brasserie bien exécutés, sachant que la carte est à l'ardoise, et sujette à changement selon les saisons. On se trouve dans un beau cadre médiéval, on mange bien, et le service est très agréable.

Seul bémol, mais qui est propre à mon expérience personnelle : la terrasse est un espace fumeur (ce qui est normal et légal, donc pas un souci normalement), mais ma femme a passé son repas sous les volutes de fumée de nos voisins de table, ce qui est plutôt désagréable pour une non fumeuse. Nous avons préféré écourter notre présence que nous plaindre au service ou à nos voisins. Supporter l'odeur d'une cigarette peut passer, mais quand vous avez une table de 3 qui les enchaînent entre chaque plat, c'est moins facile à accepter. Je ne souhaite pas passer pour l'esprit chagrin qui veut tout interdire (étant moi-même un ancien fumeur), mais peut-être ce détail pourrait faire réfléchir à couper la terrasse en deux zones ?

Quoi qu'il en soit, en dehors de ce détail qui n'en sera pas un pour certains, le cadre, la nourriture et le service méritent le...

As Vegans it is incredibly hard to get a good meal in countryside France. We v i sited Lectoure for a few days for business and where introduced to this lovely restaurant. The owner and Chef went out of their way to cater a delicious lunch dish for us. We hope next visit we may be able to have starter and dessert also. The meal was delicious...
