Yesterday, I bought a pita bread from there. As I started eating it, I noticed something strange while chewing — there was a small black animal inside. Its tail was wrapped around the edge of the pita.
Today, I went back to the store to inform them. They directed me to the manager. He took the pita, broke it apart, and claimed it wasn’t an animal but some kind of rubber. If I was expecting to hear something like “We’re sorry” or “We’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again” — I was completely wrong.
Instead, he accused me of fraud and claimed I had planted the object inside the pita myself (seriously?). When I asked for his name or a written statement of his response, he said, “Follow me!” and then stormed over to the tray of pitas. In a frenzy, he began opening them one by one to show me that there were no animals inside.
That was pointless — I bought my pita yesterday, and these were obviously fresh. When I pointed that out, he became even more aggressive and told me I was no longer welcome in the store. He even threatened to call the police.
I’m honestly shocked and deeply hurt by how I was treated. Needless to say, I will never return to that store. Thank goodness I didn’t...
Read moreI had a really unpleasant experience at Edeka recently. My child was using their own card at the self-checkout, which only accepts card payments, when a worker suddenly came up to us and told us to go to the regular cash registers instead. There was no reason for it, since we were already using the proper self-checkout system and everything was working fine.
The way the employee spoke to us was rude and unnecessary. Instead of helping or explaining any policy politely, they just interrupted and made us feel uncomfortable in front of other customers. It felt like we were being treated unfairly for no reason at all.
For a big supermarket chain like Edeka, this kind of attitude and lack of respect is really disappointing. We’ll definitely be shopping elsewhere from now on, there are plenty of stores where staff treat customers with basic courtesy.
Absolutely horrible...
