Punjab is a large sized grocery store situated in North - Central Berlin in a place called Osloer Strasse. The store had a lot of products from India, Africa, middle East and far East. You find a very large African community in the customers followed by Indians. The name of the store, Punjab, is a state or province in India (West Punjab) and Pakistan (East Punjab). The place sells food including packaged and processed foods, fresh vegetables and fruits, meat both Frozen and fresh, frozen fish and sea food. There are also cosmetics and hair care items sold here. This probably is the only place I have come across so far where fresh lamb is available. Some of my friends buy lamb only from here. Also, halal meat is sold here. You can find a vast range of products including multiple brands for the same item, there by giving you a good chance to choose. The prices are also competitive to other Indian stores in Berlin. The place is generally crowded. It is also open Up To 8 pm unlike many I such stores a a only open till 7 pm. Connectivity to the store is good given u bahn 8 and 9, tram m13 etc have stops in the vicinity. All in all, it's...
Read moreNice large selection of Indian, Pakistani, African and related items. I like going here for dried goods such as pulses and spices, frozen goods (they even have idlis and vegan parathas), oils like peanut and mustard, fresh chilis, brinjal and plantains as well as a large selection of Indian snacks and lots of different flours. They also have some cosmetics and hair pieces for some reason. The staff is very polite and helpful. Items move fast so things tend to be fresh. Prices are generally moderate and many things are priced lower than the average supermarket. They often have sales on certain dry goods. Just a nice hidden gem in a small street, the entrance is not directly on the street, you have to turn into the corridor of the building to get to the entrance (through a plastic curtain). Worth the trip to Wedding, no matter where you are...
Read moreSo recently me and my friend went to this store and we had an issue with one of the items , so we went to one of the staff (who i think is the owner )and before we even said anything he started off with his own assumptions and began to taunt us.I did not want to creat any issue so I went back in to buy another product and my friend was waiting for me outside. This kind gentleman took the effort to come outside and be rude and taunt my friend. They really need to make an effort on their customer service. Also not every person comes with the intention to steal. Its not very convenient when they ask some customers to leave their bag at the entrance and then enter. I nearly lost my wallet because of this. Its a good store , and you get all essentials but terrible...
