My leica M11 after two months turned it off suddenly.I believed it was a battery defect and I purchased a new one but finally the camera didn't turn it on. After sending in Germany, because in Spain they have no repair's service, I received their confirmation that an electronic circuit was defective and instead of replacing with a new one camera they advised that they needed up to five months for repairing. Meantime they are offering a loan camera ( terms of loan to be viewed if acceptable) during the repairing service but after spending 10.000 Euro in a cámara is unbelievable you have to wait 5 months and they are not offering a new one. the loan of a camera is not a good solution because probably I should also accept terms and conditions not reasonable taking responsibility for their loaned camara. After sales not in line with the supposedly reputation of a German manufacturer. Quality doesn't correspond to the price paid. As the seller return policy has expired I can't return. Otherwise...
Read moreYou cannot avoid entering this elegant store once you have visited the Leitz museum next door. They sell both new and pre-owned, refurbished Leica stuff. Since I have arrived at an age where I no longer buy new photographic equipment I cast my eyes on the used section, decorated in grey. I rapidly found a Leica Q2 monochrome that I have been interested in for some time. What is so nice with this store is that you can deposit your ID and then leave the store for a couple of hours to shoot with the camera/lens that interests you. The fellow that served me was really helpful when I sorted out the camera settings and went off shooting. All I know about it's history, this camera was present at second great war and probably the lens saw nazy actions through jewish concentration camps. Anybody can give me more informations from this serial number, factory year from this camera, and it's history ? I won this precious and rare camera, heritage from my dead uncle who bought from a Tschechien young man... that cames to Brazil to escape from the war around 1949-1950.
