Koumos Stone Village - A Cultural and Artistique Masterpiece!

I lost my breath when I entered the Koumos stone village.

If you love stones (like me).... then visit Koumos the stone village. You will feel it in your heart and your soul.

When walking around among all the houses and surroundings built up from thousand of beautiful stones I got all emotional.

The craft, ideas and skills behind the construction of buildings, walls, tables, benches etc. and the details on the buildings and everything else are amazing! There is obviously a very creative, sensitive and very talented and skilled brain behind this masterpiece.

When going there I didn't know that Koumos also had a restaurant and various musical events. Ufortunately we only discovered this too late, but on the day we visited Koumos we booked a table for dinner the same evening. It was a funny feeling to sit at tables made out of a big stone. All in all a wonderful experiences.

Koumos is worth a visit.

It is definetly not my last...

This was a gorgeous place to visit. We had a friendly welcome and enjoyed walking around the beautiful site. So much work has gone into creating this place and it’s definitely worth a visit to see it. Stunning views and interesting things to see. Plenty of parking. We were given complimentary bottles of water on arrival. After having a relaxed wander around we bought some drinks to enjoy whilst we sat in the bar and enjoyed the setting. Everything was clean and well kept. We all enjoyed our visit (2 adults, a teenager and child), it was definitely worth the small entrance fee. We will return again when we’re...

What an amazing place to visit. The result of one man's imagination that's run riot. Awesome is an understatement ! Words cannot begin to describe this adventure. Just Go !! Returned for an evening meal just to see it all lit up at night. Not disappointed one bit. Furthermore the food was top quality as was the wine. For the last hour we were the last couple there and were treated to a young guy playing his Mandolin. Can't remember the name of the chap that served us through the evening but a massive thank you for making our last night in Crete one to...

What a fantastic find off the beaten track. Such a great atmosphere at this restaurant. Outdoor seating. Greek music playing in the background. Views over the olive grove, with the white mountains backdrop. The food was the best meal we’ve had in Crete. The stewed lamb was incredible, rich flavour like it had been slow cooked for hours. The dakos was also delicious. Generous serving size and very reasonable prices (dakos was 3 euro versus other touristy areas charging 5+ euro). Definitely recommend this place if in the area.
