Dining at Mythos Taverna in the delightful beach town of Kayleves, Crete, was a culinary journey to remember. Nestled in this picturesque seaside setting, our evening began with the quintessential Cretan salad, a refreshing and vibrant start to our meal.For our mains, we savored the beef stifado, which arrived in a rich and savory sauce, served generously over fries.

Each bite was a testament to the chef's mastery of traditional Cretan flavors, with tender meat and perfectly balanced seasoning. Accompanied by a glass of robust red wine, the combination was simply divine. We also delighted in the moussaka, a classic Greek dish that exceeded all expectations. Creamy layers of eggplant, potato, and seasoned ground meat were expertly baked to perfection, resulting in a dish that was both comforting and indulgent.

Throughout our meal, the welcoming ambiance of Mythos Taverna added to the overall experience, leaving us thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. For anyone seeking authentic Cretan cuisine in a charming coastal setting, Mythos Taverna is undoubtedly the place to be.

We were greeted by a smiling young man, as if we had known each other for 100 years. They immediately found a suitable table for four. The first "shock" - the prices, which are the best we have encountered in Kalyves. Then came the second "shock" - the huge size of the portions! But everything is so delicious that you can't leave it. The young people are always around and show individual attitude to the guests. The only remark is that no music is played at the tables by the sea. And yet this is the best place to eat that we...

Θα ξεκινήσω από τα θετικά. Ωραία θέα στην θάλασσα με ζωντανή κρητική μουσική που μας άρεσε! Το φαγητό μέτριο θα έλεγα με κάποιες μερίδες μικρές και κάποιες κανονικές. Τα αρνητικά για εμάς ήταν το σέρβις που δεν ήταν οργανωμένο, με ρώτησαν πώς θέλω την μοσχαρίσια μπριζόλα τους είπα μέτρια και την έφεραν καλοψημένη. Παραγγείλαμε μια κρητική σαλάτα και η ντομάτα της σαλάτας ήταν πράσινη και την έστειλα πίσω. Όταν το είπα στην υπεύθυνη μου είπε ότι θα μπορούσα να ζητήσω άλλη σαλάτα για να έβαζαν καλύτερη ντομάτα και ότι δεν μπορεί να ελέγχει τα πάντα που φεύγουν για σερβίρισμα!!!Της είπα η ντομάτα που χρησιμοποιούν στα μαγαζιά της Κρήτης όπως είδαμε είναι Α ποιότητας λόγω του νησιού και όχι πράσινες . Μπορεί να φεύγουν φαγητά από την κουζίνα χωρίς το απαραίτητο έλεγχο και να σερβίρει οτι να ναι επειδή δεν μπορεί να ελέγξει όλα όσα φεύγουν από την κουζίνα;Το ύφος της επίσης ήταν αντιεπαγγελματικο προς εμένα ως πελάτη!Για το σέρβις έχω να πω τα εξής , δεν μπορεις να φέρνεις τα κυρίως πιάτα και να μην έχεις μαζέψει τα πιάτα ορεκτικων πρωτα και να αναγκάζομαι εγώ να κρατάω τα πρωτα πιάτα για αφήσουν στο τραπεζι τα κυρίως! Πάρτε έναν δίσκο σερβιρίσματος και μαζέψτε πρώτα. Επισης τις μπυρες και τα αναψυκτικά τα ανοίγουμε μπροστά στον πελάτη πάντα!Για να μας φέρουν τον λογαριασμό 20 λεπτά… Οι τιμές καλές αλλά τι...
