Parking costs money (300Ft for 2h, etc). You have to walk far away for shops, no matter where you start. It is difficult to navigate because maps are scarce and you have to think about it, instead of just going to your corner shop. As you come out of the car park towards the shops, you see many white doors with tiny writing, some are locked and some are not - your task to figure out which leads where, even though it is not hard to guess where most people want to go. A labyrinth! Escalators clearly cannot be everywhere and lifts are behind many heavy manual doors. The buttons in the lifts (0,1,2,3) do not match the level designations on the maps (lower/upper level), so you don't know what button to press (see my photos - apologies for the quality, took them out of a video). Utter confusion! The whole center is designed to maximise people walking past shops, so the center can rent out the shop space for maximum profit (check their profit in their annual report, it is public). But the customer ultimately pays for all these unnecessary costs. Sure, all shopping centers are shiny, colourful and attractive. But what do they give us? I came out exhausted and frustrated, having lost 1 hour just to pop into one shop. Save time and money: support your local small shops and small business owners instead. Rich people don't go to shopping centers, they shop exclusively for a reason. Can somebody please post a photo of the parking charges please? I could not get a photo because I got so exhausted and late from...
Read moreI rarely give 1 star to any establishment so let me explain it.
In my opinion, the purpose of a shopping mall is to give excellent service to the customers, which Koku fails to do.
I visited this place 2 times in the last month, and half of the escalators were not functional. You could just step in these steep stairs to reach some of the shops. Not 1, not 2, but more or less half of them out of order. Nobody seemed to work on fixing them, and the steps were filthy with a thick layer of dirt.
Another issue for me is that they make you pay for using the bathroom. I know this has become quite common practice in Hungary lately, but I just can't accept it. You spend hours and tons of money in a place like this, paying for everything in the price of products and parking, I expect them to provide some service.
Additionally, I would argue that this practice simply doesn't comply with regulations as they have restaurants in the establishment. But who am I to judge legal issues, I just want to feel like an appreciated customer which doesn't...
Read moreI find KÖKI a nice place overall mostly because I remember the infernal chaos before its existence.
KÖKI is an enormous shopping mall designed to host several restaurants, grocery shops, pharmacy, barbershops, fashion boutiques, etc (OBI - home improvement store, Tesco - groceries and general stuff, New Yorker - fashion, Müller - cosmetics, Post office, Banks, bookstores, whatever you name it).
It is at the top of a train station, a metro station, and a large bus terminal. Because of the big traffic, the outside is always dirty.
If you want to go to the Hungarian National Airport you can take "bus 200" (Airport Bus). If you have to wait you can take a slow walk around the mall or on the rooftop.
The building is very spacious even for someone who battles with agoraphobia.
The food is mostly excellent especially a tiny Thai buffet. There is a gaming place, the new Coca-Cola Esport Center .
No cinema.
It's basically the big brother of Shopmark, definitely not as rich as Westend, but perfect for everyday shopping and very...
