It’s worth it! If you doubt, just do it! You won’t be disappointed! IMPORTANT TO KNOW: WEAR DARK SWIMSUIT, otherwise small stones and black sand can scratch your colorful/white swimsuit when you are sitting on the side of the bath or inside and they can’t be removed afterwards..so I have to throw my newly bought swimsuit after that bathing..the only disadvantage. You can’t find better place to have true Icelandic experience..chilling in hot thermal water (appx.+40C) at the upper level and then plunging into the ocean (+12C) was truly a HIGHLIGHT of my experience in August 2023. Changing rooms are pretty simple and cold, you can leave some clothes there (not under supervision) or take it all with you and with other valuables. WC is in separate building next to the cashier (no sockets for hairdryer). You can rent swimsuits, bathrobes, swimming shoes and towels there. Showers outside only (pay attention, really hot water). Visit on a weekday as it is crowded with locals at weekends. Free parking just 5-7min walk.

Amazing experience. Things to note - No locker facility. Basic changing room. Prices have been increased to 2500kr

DIRECTIONS Park between the arena and the football field. Then walk down the foot path behind the arena. Walk past the playground. Keep walking. The baths are in a small cement block between the beach and the athletics field. EXPERIENCE This is not a tourist attraction! It's mostly locals here. If you have a choice you might want to avoid going on weekends when it is most busy. It's not the best view in Iceland as you are looking out towards an industrial area. But it's a great experience. Note that if you plan on plunging in the ocean after your hot bath, the walk to the water is a bit longer when the tide is out. There are changing rooms. Bring your own towel.

Nestled on Iceland's rugged coastline, Guðlaug Baths emerges as a pinnacle of outdoor luxury. Build like a bunker into the natural rock, these geothermal pools provide an opulent haven amidst untamed city landscapes.

The mineral-rich waters, heated by Earth's embrace, invite a sensory journey beneath the open sky. With panoramic views of the North Atlantic, patrons indulge in unparalleled relaxation. The sleek, minimalist design of the baths effortlessly blends with the surroundings, creating a serene atmosphere.

Guðlaug Baths transcends the conventional, offering a transcendent fusion of nature and indulgence, making it a haven for those seeking the epitome of outdoor opulence.

Beneath the grandstands of the football stadium, the changing rooms await goers in a stark contrast to the warmth of the pool. These very cold chambers, seemingly untouched by the radiant energy above, exude an atmosphere of anticipation. Frosty air envelopes the space, carrying the essence of competition and...
