Horrible! This is what we experienced in this hospital during 65 days stay of my mother in law with a brain haemorrhage. Being non medical person we are in no position to judge or evaluate what the medical team has done for her. We should not be commenting on the same based on our guesses since the patient condition worsened day by day.
Though the patient suffered from multiple seizures, recurrent fever, sepsis, bed sore and eventually loss of sense and movements completely, we were clearly informed about her vegetative state only when we took second and third opinions from outside hospitals. Before that we were given false hopes continuously that the patient condition would improve but we would have to wait with sheer patience. We waited and are still waiting for the recovery which is now, as per them is stagnant.
The patient is bed ridden, on ryle's tube and tracheostomy. She is in coma and constant need of medical attention. However, since her medical annual sanction limit has crossed and she is being treated beyond that under special approval from the corporate we have, hospital corporate desk feels tremendously pressured and sceptical about the entire payment clearance.
Starting 1st July, suddenly all the admin and corporate staffs have taken immense interest in the patient's medical condition and taken decision to compel us to take her discharge against home care.
Their corporate marketing executives shared the fear of keeping a patient for more than 2 months and getting questioned in the audit because of that. Medical team goes behind the curtains suddenly after the initiation of discharge process on 3rd July. Despite our request to hold the discharge till 10th July they process the same on 5th July and write manipulative email to our corporate.
During the time they planned discharge for her against home care, she suffered sudden throw ups after ryle's tube feeding for which she needed to be aspirated several times. Also her hands are fully swollen and not in a position to taken IV drugs and hence central line consent was taken from us to make a major channel either in the throat or on the thigh to continue her medication. I don't think these procedures can be performed during home care. Even if it can be done, home care is an option. This can never be imposed on the patient relatives because of hospital internal audit issues or lack of hygienic infection control unit.
Until 18th June the patient couldn't survive even for 15 mins without ventilator. Miraculously she is surviving without ventilator starting from 19th June when we took a risk and gave consent to withdraw ventilator support!!!!!!!
A coma patient with 164 CRP level, 22000 WBC count and recurrent fever because of septicemia is fine for them and ready to be discharged. This is one of a kind experience - infection treating hospital scares patient away due to incompetent infection control unit (? Not sure if they have any)
When she is inside the hospital she is kept under palliative treatment but in order to discharge the clinically unfit patient and get the full bill cleared from our corporate ASAP, her treatment has been changed to home care treatment from palliative one.
It's a pain for the night doctors and nurses to give a 5 min update to the patient relative during her stay in ICU as well as HDU. Before letting us know how the patient is they start with their questionnaire (didn't you guys come during visiting hours? Why are you calling again then? Why are you calling now when your relative has already seen the patient? And the list continues...)
The pain, mental agony, despair and hopelessness we have felt during the last 2 months is overwhelming. It is definitely not in the hands of the hospital staffs to guarantee survival and full recovery of each and every patient they treat. However, it is definitely possible for each one of them to feel what we go through during this phase and act accordingly!!!
She breathed her last on 10th July. Ruby Hospital is a nightmare which would haunt us for the rest...
Read moreThis review is regrading my experience, while my wife was admitted via emergency under Dr. SunilBaran DasChakrabarty for Upper abdominal pain. I stayed with my wife as I booked cabin in Regency. I recently had the opportunity to receive care at Ruby Hospital, and while my experience had its ups and downs, I felt it was important to highlight both the positives and areas for improvement.
First and foremost, I cannot speak highly enough about the medical and radiology teams. The doctors, specialists, and radiologists were incredibly skilled, compassionate, and attentive. I felt confident in their hands, and their professionalism made a significant difference in my overall experience. The medical staff went above and beyond to explain my condition, treatment options, and answered all my questions with care. The radiology team was efficient and thorough, making the diagnostic process smooth and informative.
Unfortunately, my experience with the nursing staff was less favorable. While some nurses were kind and helpful, I did encounter delays in care, and communication from the nursing team was inconsistent. At times, it felt like there was a lack of attention to detail, which added unnecessary stress to an already challenging situation.
In addition, I found the housekeeping staff to be lacking in attention to cleanliness. The rooms were not consistently cleaned to the standard I would expect, and the housekeeping staff seemed overworked, which may have contributed to the oversight. A more proactive approach to maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms would be greatly appreciated.
Lastly, the administrative staff was unorganized and at times difficult to work with. There were significant delays in processing paperwork, and communication regarding billing and appointments could have been much clearer. Improved efficiency and customer service in this area would enhance the overall patient experience.
While there were certainly areas that need improvement, I truly appreciate the outstanding care I received from the medical and radiology teams at Ruby Hospital. I hope they will take these concerns to heart and make improvements in the...
Read moreI was admitted on 8th February for oral cancer surgery under the overall supervision of Dr Chowdhury and his team.I was operated thrice in a span of 5 days.I acknowledge the sincere effort of the surgeon and his team as also the numerous RMOs and other doctors who visited me time and again. The fact that I am writing this message is a testimonial of that. I would like to mention the name of Dr Banerjee from this team who took almost daily care of my post-surgery dressings, opening of drainage tubes etc.The approach of the entire team was extremely humane and supportive. I stayed in 2 phases in ICU for 5 nights and a single cabin on the 6th floor for 10 nights. The arrangement of the 6th Floor was simply superb and the room was kept impeccably clean. The nursing staff was very efficient and helpful and looked after me 24×7.I was very happy to receive care from senior nursing officials like Nurse Parvati and Madam Director of Nursing.Their frequent visits and pep talks really helped. I was also encouraged by one of the Directors Dr Samaddar by my bed-side.I wish to express my sincerest thanks and gratitude to all mentioned above and to all others whose names I do not remember now. The overall service of the 6th floor ward was exceptionally good. I was well supported by a team of physiotherapists who were very courteous and understanding. A.Ghosh ,A Das and several others from the billing section willingly cooperated with my family members to expedite matters. My sincere thanks to them. My experience with ICU is unfortunately somewhat inferior. Please try to reduce noise level and occasional chaotic conditions. I have no specific issues with doctors, but I failed to receive attention for some hours on one day because the nursing staff was busy elsewhere. Since I could not speak at that time, matters got difficult. I believe that these were issues specific to one festival day, because it happened on only one day. I think that people need some privacy and peace. Barring these issues, I have all praise...
