Early 2023, had the opportunity to visit Udaipur and, as always, I made it a point to explore the local culinary scene. In my quest for authentic flavors, I stumbled upon Jayesh Misthan Bandar (JMB), a renowned sweet shop located near Chetak Circle. With a rich history spanning several decades, JMB has firmly established itself as an iconic institution in Udaipur.

During my visit, I indulged in a variety of sweets and snacks offered by JMB. One particular highlight was their pyaz ka kachori, which has garnered a devoted following in Udaipur. The unique combination of flavors and textures in this snack truly impressed me. Additionally, their milk sweets and cashew-based delicacies like ghevar and kaju patisa were simply the best in town.

It's worth noting that JMB does not provide seating facilities or parking options, which might be a drawback for some visitors. When travelling to a new place, I make it a point to try out food local to the region which for me is the real experience! This time, the destination was the City of Lakes – Udaipur which meant Pyaaz Ki Kachori and Mirchi Vada was top on the list to try. Jayesh Mishtan Bhandar was a chance find while traversing through the city and we soon realized it was one of the famous spots as well.

After reaching here, we realized it was not only the two items that we had come for but it was rather a bhandar of sweets and savories that were on offer as well. Tried a few, packed a lot to savor it back home for days after we return. Sweets high on taste and Savories high on spice level ! After we were done food shopping, grabbed the two items that we came for. Pyaaz Ki Kachori with all the chatpata chutneys to add on, the same topping for the Mirchi Vada and relished it while on a tuk tuk ! Experience it and you will not be disappointed.
