Overhyped Lassi, Underwhelming Taste & Zero Hygiene.

Visited this outlet of Shastri Sweets in Udaipur after hearing it’s famous for the Lassi other than usual sweets, but left disappointed. Ordered two lassis at ₹40 each, served in small 150-200ML plastic cups (sealed pack). The yellow color made me think it was mango-flavoured, but it turned out to be just thick beaten sweetened dahi (curd) that went sour probably after keeping couple of days. But it was nothing close to lassi in taste or texture-appearance. The outlet itself looked unhygienic from the start, staff was dressed casually like cleaners, sat idly outside, no gloves no caps, or proper attire, and preparation was done barehanded on visibly unclean platforms. Sadly, neither the drink nor the hygiene lived up to its reputation.

Outlet might be fine for locals, but from first time visitor (outsider's perspective), it’s a definite no for me having experienced far...

I’ve been a loyal customer of Shastri Sweets for many years, which is why it pains me to share my recent experience. I purchased Besan ladoos for a special Ganesha Chaturthi event, intending to treat my 4-year-old son. Unfortunately, I found a small hair in one of the ladoos, which was disheartening and unacceptable.

Given Shastri Sweets’ longstanding reputation for quality, I expected a higher standard of cleanliness and attention to detail. When customers are willing to pay a premium for quality, it's crucial for vendors to uphold those standards diligently.

I hope this feedback encourages Shastri Sweets to revisit their quality control processes to ensure that such issues are addressed promptly. I value their long-standing presence in our town and hope they can restore the high standards they...
