Venuban Buddha Vihar, Agartala . Venuban Buddha Vihar is the Buddha temple located 2 km away from the Agartala city centre. It is a famous Buddha temple in the area and is famed to house a Buddha idol completely made of metal. It is believed that the legendary idol was made in Myanmar and later transported to its present location. In Venuban Budhha Vihar, Buddha Purnima, the day which encompasses the birth, enlightenment and death of Lord Buddha, is celebrated with much gusto. The temple is decorated in colourful hoardings and it wears a general air of festivity. Many people from across the city and other places visit the Venuban Budhha Vihar to mark this occasion. The Venuban Budhha Vihar is considered to be one of the important Buddha temples in India and is highly revered by Buddhists and followers of Lord Buddha. Apart from having a strong religious significance, the temple is also a popular tourist destination.

Its always been in my 5star rated place.Best place for meditation.Calm,quiet,peace are the 3 most prevailed element in this place.Personally I always recommend this place who are facing anxiety problem or any kind of depression. Place : Totally Neat and clean , full of trees around the temple,We will able to observe the finace work of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya in the walls of Benuvan Bihar. *This place is not for picnic* So maintain silence here,and just enjoy the serenity of peace. I will recommend the govt that they must ensure the beauty of the temple must be prevailed as always.Should maintained properly,colour the walls of the temple time to time.

Buddha Jayanti or the day of Buddha’s advent is celebrated on Buddha Purnima day with great enthusiasm. A visit to this monastery can be a peaceful experience. Benuban Vihar bears testimony to the fact that from remote past Tripura has been extending hospitality and patronage to the religion and culture of its neighbors. The quiet monastery is an abode of eternal peace and tranquility to all tourists and visitors.
