Review of Uthandi Toll Plaza

My experience at Uthandi Toll Plaza was far from satisfactory. Despite being one of the prominent toll points on the ECR stretch, the management and organization here leave much to be desired. Long queues are a regular issue, especially during weekends and holidays, with barely any effort to streamline the traffic or open additional lanes. The wait time can get extremely frustrating, even with FASTag lanes in place.

What’s even more disappointing is the lack of proper signage and lane discipline. Vehicles often get stuck due to poor coordination, and there is minimal presence of staff to guide or assist drivers. During peak hours, there’s chaos with honking, rash driving, and zero enforcement of traffic rules.

The infrastructure around the toll is also not well-maintained. The approach roads are patchy, and the overall area lacks cleanliness and proper lighting at night, which makes it unsafe, especially for solo travelers.

For the amount collected in toll fees, one would expect smoother traffic flow and better service. Unfortunately, Uthandi Toll Plaza feels like an unnecessary bottleneck rather than a well-managed facility. Improvements in traffic management, staff training, and infrastructure are...

Toll plaza is collecting more money for the imperfect roads. The maintenance of the roads are very poor. They are collecting the money only. The traffic jam is most done here because of the reason of slow process which are done in this toll plaza. We want to remove this toll plaza for the people safety and avoid the traffic jams.
