I recently visited this theatre and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few drawbacks worth mentioning.
Ambience & Cleanliness: The theater has a modern and inviting atmosphere. The lobby area is clean, spacious, and well-lit, with a nice selection of snacks at the concession stand. The staff were friendly and efficient, making the ticketing and entry process smooth.
Seating & Comfort: Seating was one of the highlights—plush, well-maintained, and comfortable even for longer movies. The spacing between rows offered plenty of legroom, and the reclining feature in some seats added a luxurious touch.
Picture Quality: The visuals were crisp and vibrant, with no issues regarding screen brightness or resolution. Everything from trailers to the main feature looked sharp and immersive.
Sound System – Needs Improvement: This is where the experience fell short. The audio was inconsistent throughout the movie. At times, the volume would drop unexpectedly, making dialogue hard to hear, especially during quieter scenes. Then it would suddenly spike during action sequences, which was jarring. It seemed like the theater’s sound calibration was off or the speakers weren’t properly balanced. For a theater that gets so much else right, this was a surprising letdown—especially considering how crucial sound is to the overall...
Read moreThis is our favourite cinema, we live in Gweedore but travel to Eclipse Lifford regularly bypassing the inferior Century Cinema in Letterkenny.
It is a little tucked away but this means it is more relaxed. It is easily enough found though and there is loads of parking.
The cinema is so clean and well managed it is unbelievable. The staff are so friendly and you see the same people over and over again... I can only imagine staff turnover is very low. This is a massive credit to the management.
The screens are Sony 4k and the quality of picture and sound is impressive. All the screens have really comfortable seating and are climate controlled for environmental comfort.
Refreshments are available and everything is clean and tidy. The popcorn is good and comes in sweet, salted or mixed as small, medium or large. The normal drinks and chocolate snacks and crisps are a as liable but sadly no ice cream.
We go as often as possible and enjoy the Tuesday half price discounts which make it much more affordable for family outings. There is also a generous loyalty programme where you earn points for tickets and refreshments that you buy. You can check your points on their mobile app and redeem them against tickets or refreshments when you collect enough.
All in all my family and I genuinely love this place. Highly...
Read more**We visited Eclipse Lifford on Tuesday May 16th 2023. Simply one of the best cinemas you can visit for value and service.
We used to visit regularly when we first lived here but then moved to the UK and are now back after ten years away. This was our first visit since returning home.
I went online to book tickets and paid about €32 (keep reading) which I thought was expensive but I knew my wife wanted to see the movie so I bit the bullet and paid.
After we arrived, I went to the treat shop and was told I had booked the meal deal in error and had also failed to book the special offer tickets. A manager was called over by a member of staff, lovely woman, who explained that I should have booked the 'Crazy Tuesday' tickets. I had totally forgotten they do this.
She refunded my money and my final tally was €5 each as tickets are that price all day every Tuesday.
People who live in the greater Lifford area know that Eclipse Cinema is a hidden gem. Thank you so much, Eclipse, for a lovely evening.
Things to know: *No problem, free parking *'Missed it Mondays' special price; 'Crazy Tuesdays' €5 for all tickets. *Lovely, modern cinema with plush seats and excellent toilet facilities. *They have a super plush cinema dining area for extra (I have not used it yet). *Very friendly and...
