Bad experience with click and collect. Shop here all the time. Decided I would try the click and collect because having 2 babies under 2 doesn't always make for the easiest shopping experience! Thought it was very handy that you just scan the barcode and your shopping is brought down to you. Great! When I got home I realised a lot of items were missing. Rang the general customer service who were very helpful but after several attempts they could not get through to this store. Was advised to just go over and any problems ring them back straight away. Got to customer service counter and a young worker (who has always been very helpful) rang into the back. No answer. Called for manager over the intercom and 15 minutes later a worker comes lumbering out saying to guy on counter "He wants to know what you want". He explained. Worker went back in and it was another 15 minutes before the manager came out. I explained and he checked in the back to see if a crate had been left behind. There wasn't. Manger told me to grab a basket and pick up my items that were missing. He came with me and started making comments like " that much stuff?" "Are you done?" I felt really uncomfortable like he thought I was scamming them. These were paid for items, not unavailable or substituted there was nearly 20 things missing. I ended up just getting half the things that were missing because of the way I was made feel. Will never use click and collect again because the workers can't read and pack a simple shopping list and when they don't I lose out on money, shopping and...
Read moreI thoroughly hate shopping at this Tesco. So today will be the last time I spend money there.
There are NEVER any baskets at the front of the store.
As a teenager I worked in a supermarket for years and we periodically had to go and collect baskets from by checkout lanes and replenish the empty racks by the front door. This clearly doesn’t happen in this store.
So you try and ask for change to get a trolley and the woman standing behind the customer service desk tells you that she’s not serving.
The queues are ridiculous, there’s usually only person person on the checkout. So people are self scanning a weekly shop through the self service.
Last week the only person on checkout was a young woman who clearly hadn’t been trained (which isn’t her fault) and she didn’t even know how to change the till roll which meant we were standing around waiting for 10 minutes while she attempted to print a customers receipt.
Not to mention, most of the time the fresh produce shelves aren’t properly faced forward so you can find yourself buying expired food if you’re not careful.
I’d rather drive further and go to a better supermarket. Which is what I’ll do...
Read moreTesco Superstore is a convenient place to shop, with a wide selection of products and an easy-to-navigate layout. It has always been a reliable stop for essentials, fresh produce, and household items, and the staff who are available are generally friendly and helpful.
However, in recent times, the experience has started to feel less positive. Prices have been climbing noticeably, even on Tesco’s own-brand products, and the quality and portion sizes don’t always match the increase. For basics, it feels like you’re paying more but getting less.
Another frustration is the push toward self-service machines. There often aren’t enough staff at the tills, so customers are left waiting in long queues or effectively forced to use the machines. It can feel impersonal and inconvenient, especially when all you want is quick service with a human touch.
Overall, Tesco still offers variety and convenience, but between rising prices, slipping value, and the over-reliance on self-checkout, the shopping experience doesn’t feel as customer-focused as...
