Bikini Beach — Local services in Gallipoli

Avoid at all costs. This place is not ready for foreign tourism and nor does it want it.

The female cashier is shocking. Very mean and rude. I was yelled at like a stray animal persistently to get out of the restaurant area as I was holding 2 empty glass bottles which I thought would be helpful to return to the bar for recycling before buying another. At least I think that’s what I was being scolded for, there was a sign written only in Italian that she was furiously rapping on whilst berating me. I am still not sure.

That’s after paying 45 euro for a couple of loungers for an after lunch trip to the beach. Looking at other reviews it seems those prices are flexible for what the staff view as their preferred clientele as well.

ABSOLUTELY ARROGANT AND IMPOLITE CASHIER. Arrived at 2 pm. Asked for 2 sunbeds - normal price 30€. Had to insist to get a receipt, the cashier got angry and impolite, she asked her colleague to give us 2 sunbeds right at the entrance and next to the garbage bin. We asked for another place, the cashier lady answered : this is the only place for you, if you don’t like it go away from here. ADVICE: go next door - to THE BAIA VERDE LIDO. The beach is nice, but nothing special. There is plenty of similar beaches in the area. The staff speaks little English, but we had no problem to be understood. I was missing the possibility to have a shower- which was for a fee of 1 euro. Toilets are also dirty, full of sand and stinky.
