Local Aromas - Food Tours Rome

We experienced a wonderful night wine tour in Rome with Local Aromas, a Rome based company run by two foodie sisters, Bernadette and Valeria. Between the two of them, their expertise include being a wine sommelier, an olive oil sommelier, a professional cheese taster and a trained pastry chef. Very well placed for being food and wine experts in Rome!

We joined the Rome by Night Wine Tasting 3 Hour tour led by sommelier, Eric. In short, this involved wine, food and walking around the gorgeous streets of Rome visiting four different venues and areas of the city. What an absolute treat.

A lot of thought has gone into the four fantastic stops in the wine tour. Local Aromas have spent months speaking to, and researching, venues to make sure the tour covers the best hidden gems in Rome. Given that, I could not possibly reveal the places that we visited!

Suffice to say Benny and Eric how to pair wine with food. Our evening was filled with great conversation, amazing wine, food pairings and laughter. We came away from this wine tour in Rome with knowledge of pairing food and wine and also learnt more about the history of the City. Local Aromas is my top pick for tours in Italy

Art and Aperitivo with Local Aromas was like being invited by locals to hang out, enjoy drinks and food, and laugh. I was suddenly the guest of an insider, sipping my spritz, laughing and learning about Italy.

I met with Valeria and the other guests at a great restaurant (and now I have another place to revisit on my next trip) where they served my spritz along with a platter of tasty antipasti to share. I chose a cute Fiat to decorate with Posca art markers (pro quality) and just had fun. In the end, I had a cute souvenir that now sits on my desk to remind me of my trip and ideas for new flavours (Thank you for getting me to try new things!). It's a unique memory that was more personal than any other tour.

This was the most exceptionally run tour of my trip; It felt genuine, not scripted or canned, and everything was fantastic quality from the food to the art markers. Local Aromas sets a high standard. I can't wait for my next trip to enjoy more!

Awesome Roman Food Tour! Cannot recommend Local Aromas enough. They helped plan an unbelievable afternoon filled with the best local food available. We had 2 different kinds of pizza, beer & potato croquettes, gelato and the best rice balls ever!!! While walking through the different streets of Rome our tour guide Eric was so knowledgeable and entertaining filling us in on history and Roman culture. My husband and I were on vacation with our 22 and 20 year old kids. They absolutely loved it. At each stop we weren't given samples we were given full size servings. We were stuffed by the end of the 90 minute tour. I really wish we had more time to do another tour or perhaps a cooking class. If we visit the city again we will certainly book another tour or class. When we were booking the tour, Benedetta took the time to make sure we book just the right type of tour.
