Did this via Ferrara with the daughter of 6 years old. Was a great experience!
Started with the tunnel. A lot of walking. Need to be careful with the child as your step should be sturdy. Used 3m leashed to fix my daughter to me for security.
A lot of loose rocks, be careful not to dump then to other people following you.
Tunnels from the war time a really touching.
Last part of via Ferrara requires climbing from the child.
We did it when it was very cold outside with some snow. So winter jacket and gloves were required. Better user gloves with good grip, we had woollen ones and it's more difficult.

Read moreMonte Paterno or Paternkofel is a mountain and summit just northeast to Tre Cime. It is significant for being an important Italian stronghold in WW1 and the site of fierce battles. It is a small and rugged plateau (2744 m.a.s.l.) with a big wooden cross and an inscription dedicated to Sepp Innerkofler. There is also a small improvised altar. The views of the surroundings are astonishing. Definitely recommended to visit if hiking in the...

This hike really shows that the dolomites are the worlds most beautiful mountains! Note that the hike to Monte Paterno is popular, expect too meet many people there. I wouldnt say its too crowded though. Also bring a helmet and via...
