Nice small (tiny) beach with great views to Ortigia. Google will take you the wrong way all the way through the peninsula internally, just ignore it and follow Via della Maddalena. To get to the beach you have to go through the gates of Villa Maddalena I think it's called and they have a passageway to get to the stairs to the beach. Very easy access.

Una spiaggia protetta da un piccolo rilievo, alla quale si accede mediante una breve scalinata che termina su una piattaforma di cemento (si faccia attenzione agli ultimi gradini quando si scende!). Interamente delimitata da un muro rivestito in pietra, limite inferiore delle proprietà che insistono sul mare, qui si affacciano un lussuoso resort e delle affascinanti ville. Agli oleandri del complesso turistico si sussegue una macchia mediterranea che rende pittoresco il contorno. Il resto è alquanto ordinario. La sabbia, granulosa, non ha nessuna particolarità, se non i numerosi cocci di vetro e ceramica che di tanto in tanto danno qualche nota di colore. Il fondale ha uno scalino sassoso, oltre il quale si libera offrendo morbida sabbia. Di sfondo, la maestosa città di Siracusa e la baia del Porto Grande, nel quale si possono scorgere i galleggianti di sostegno per la coltivazione dei mitili.

The water is not the cleanest and the beach itself quite dirty. Be aware of car thieves and parking fines. There is no organized parking around. On the two streets "Via la Maddalena" and "Via del Faro Massolivieri" it looks like you can park like the locals, but the police comes periodically and fines everybody. My car was robbed of personal belongings (in the trunk, not visible) and fined during the same two hours I've stayed there in the...

Out of the three main beaches, this litoral, Arenella, and Fonta Bianche, I would say that this would be the least preferred option, though not a bad one. There is fairly little shore space, making it a rather small to medium sized beach. Few nice places to grab something to eat or dine, making it a less popular beach choice. Nonetheless, the beach is free, pleasant, clean, and not loud, making it a nice choice for...
