In a nutshell "Robbery a la Sicily"
Do yourself a big service and stay away from this place - mediocre food and specially poor service
The waiter rushed us and sold us two Ostrica "Fresh Fish" Selection - antipasti + first plate + second plate. We wanted to share but he insisted we need to order two menus, that seemed fishy.
Antipasti was entirely made from fried fish/mussels - an insult to Sicilian gastronomy IMHO Some mussels soup that we didn't taste
First plate - over cooked extra salted spaghetti with mussels and one shrimp. That was the moment when we said that's it - called for manager and asked them to stop the parade
The whole crew didn't pay attention and all they cared about was the money, pay the bill and get out was the message
We made a scene, paid the bill, left the place - luckily we went back to get the receipt and we met the owner who kinda saved the situation (partially refund) - she is ok, but the manager and the waiter would need some manners, education and a less...
Read moreProbably the worst meal I've ever paid for. Prawn cocktail starter, frozen prawns, (shrimps) on a plate with lettuce and covered in browny pink sauce of some description. Bruscetta just tomatoes on toast. Ordered wine and water just put on table, didn't even turn the glasses over. Bread without any butter and no condiments on table, not even black pepper. Main courses just as bad. Pasta with tomatoes, you get pasta with tomatoes, that's it. Plain as hell. Service is slow and I'm not sure there's a chef, maybe a cook! Usually holiday on gozo and have been going there for over 10 years. I've never had a meal as bad there in all that time. Was going to walk out before we ordered but the Mrs stopped me, wish I hadn't listened to her and just gone. I've heard that Sicily has the best food in Italy, not here it doesn't....
Read moreThe location is right on the port but next to a road. The food is good but the service is horrible. I hate to say it but I felt almost scammed. The head waiter will suggest items out of menu like the wine. I asked the price but I was charged a different price at the cash and also treated as if I was lying. If you order a plate and they tell you to add a pesciolino (small fish) beware you will be charged 50 euro kilo on top of the fish you ordered. Again it is true he told you to add but he'll say it in a way you believe it's just a free addition. Eventually the head waiter and the cashier couldn't agree on the wine price. Anyway AVOID AVOID AVOID. I was an old time client before I emigrated. They saw me with foreigners and they played...
