Located about 1 hour drive from Fukuoka city in Asakusa, Roppokan is one of the better onsen hotel in the area. Lots of parking space by the hotel. The hotel is built along the river, with most of the room facing it. Check in was efficient. We were seated in the lobby lounge to enjoy the green tea and sweets, while the staff explaining the hotel detail. There was a foot bath just outside the lounge, facing the river.||||Our room was on the third floor, facing river and had a nice view of the area. The room is nicely appointed, with a very comfortable feeling staying in it. There was a small pier in front of the hotel in the river for the boat with which the big birds would catch the fish in the river at night. The room itself is spacious and in good shape and state. Outdoor onsen, which is a very nice rock bath, is on the 3rd floor overlooking the river. ||||Dinner is served in partitioned room in the restaurant. Most items of the dinner, including sashimi, grilled fish and the pork were very good. Breakfast was served in the same restaurant. It was a semi buffet style, with fixed plate served individually and other items on buffet table. Meals at the hotel was outstanding.||||Though it is a relatively small hotel, we really feel good staying...

While the inn retains the appearance of a traditional hot spring inn, as it has a long history, it also incorporates modern needs and has Japanese-modern guest rooms, creating a healing space that pursues the comfort of its visitors. As a hot spring resort that flourished as a place to stay, the inn has an abundant supply of hot spring water from its own hot spring source, and the viscous water with floating hot spring minerals continues to fascinate guests to this day. If you want to enjoy the superb quality of the spring water to your heart's content, you should definitely head to the open-air garden observation bath on the 4th floor. From here, you can enjoy a bath while looking at the magnificent view of the beautiful garden and the Chikugo River. It is sure to heal both your body and mind to the core. For those who want to relax without worrying about being seen by others, I recommend a room with a hot spring. For dinner, a banquet meal with carefully prepared dishes will be served, and you will be able to enjoy the abundant seasonal delicacies to your...
