MT. FUJI SATOYAMA VACATION — Local services in Fujinomiya

Saying that this is the best possible experience in this area of Japan would be a massive understatement. From the start, Chieko was waiting to pick us up with a smile and warm heart. She gave us all of the information about the area, and the companies mission to combine the environment, people, and positivity into one package. When we arrived at the camp site we were blown away by the location and how clean and beautiful everything was. The amenities at the site were 5/5.

Masa, the owner, was there to greet us and explain the history of the project and their goals. He was excellent and made us feel invited and warm. He is an extremely well traveled man and someone you could spend hours speaking to!

We took a private tour with a fantastic photographer (Takechi) for some engagement pictures and went to the most beautiful local places around Fuji and got stunning photos to capture every moment. Chieko then prepared a delicious meal of local meat and vegetables for us to enjoy under the stars! Our second day was equally as memorable, with Chieko preparing us a delicious breakfast with more local ingredients! She took us on a private E-Bike Tour through the town of Fuji, and afterwards to: Local Tea Farms, The Fuji Shrine, Local Yakisoba, and finished with an unforgettable Tea Tasting Experience!

Everyone who is part of the staff has incredible stories and pure hearts. I can’t say enough how blessed we are to have found these incredible people and I only hope that everyone who comes to this area can be so lucky to spend time with these incredible people in this incredible town.

A Mt. Fuji Adventure Like No Other!

After an exhilarating hike on Mt. Fuji, one of the most rewarding experiences awaited us that we'll forever treasure. Masa and his incredible team, including Ryo, Juliette, Mikki, Chieko, and Yumi extended the warmest hospitality, creating an unforgettable camping escapade.

Their friendliness instantly made us feel like part of their family. Their expertise transformed mere meals into moments of delight. The barbecue and breakfast, carefully crafted from locally sourced ingredients around the mountain's base, truly showcased their dedication and passion to eco-tourism. Even the beer and sake was locally sourced.

What truly set this experience apart was the unique tour they arranged. Exploring the local village, temple, sake distillery and charming eateries was a rare treat, given the area's limited accessibility and lower tourist numbers. It was as if we were discovering a hidden experience known only to those living in the village.

Masa and his team have an unparalleled knack for curating moments that go beyond the ordinary. Their warmth and the richness of the experience they offered turned a simple camping trip into a lifelong memory. For anyone seeking not just adventure, but a deep connection with nature and culture, this is an absolute must-do. Can I give 6 stars? If you want to experience the real Japan, this is THE place! Just the perfect last (too-short!) few days of our 10-day trip. I didn’t want to leave! From the nature-watching opportunities (I added so many species to my wildlife life list!) to the breath-taking waterfalls, to the twilight BBQ with local meats and veggies at the end of a full day before collapsing into our rustic yet oh-so-comfy accommodations, every experience exceeded my expectations. I felt like we had just the right balance of adventure and relaxation. This may have been helped by the fact that I was encouraged to sip sake and gaze at Mt. Fuji and snuggle Yume (the friendliest Shiba Inu dog) while my boyfriend grilled marinated Japanese eggplant and steak on the patio. I can’t imagine not having visited this charismatic village with its incredible scenery during our trip. By far the highlight of our Japan trip, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience thanks to Masa, his daughter Aina, and the staff who treated us like family. The pride and excitement of showing off Mt. Fuji shines through in the staff who appeared to be having as much fun as we were!
