佐野家 — Restaurant in Fujinomiya

We arrived at 5 p.m. and noticed that the restaurant didn’t seem to be open. So, we went inside and asked if they were open. The shop appeared to be run by an elderly couple. It was challenging to communicate with them. However, we understood that they had a set menu that we could choose from, even though it was labeled as a lunch set. 😆

We used a translation app and ordered extra salmon sushi. The fish was exceptionally fresh and delicious, considering its price! After finishing our meal, we waited for dessert, but it never arrived. When we went to ask, we were met with another communication breakdown. She initially apologized and we thought she said it was coming, but it turned out they didn’t have any dessert. 😆😆😆

We chanced upon this place after visiting the Shiraito Falls. We had such an awesome lunch here, and it's one of the best meals we've had in Japan.

This cosy restaurant is run by a friendly elderly couple. While we had some communication problems initially, we used Google Translate and it was okay after that. We didn't have any reservations but they told us to wait and we were given counter seats.

It seems like this place is frequented by locals. We had a Nigiri set and a Kaidendon set offered for lunch (1800 yen per set). Food was so good that we decided to order a plate of Otoro sushi (3500 yen) too.

Ingredients are so fresh and premium, every bite was heavenly. It is evident that the owners take pride in their business - the food is just so good.

Had an incredible dining experience at this sushi restaurant! Every dish on the menu is truly delicious - the quality and flavor of the sushi are exceptional. The lovely couple running the restaurant provided top-notch service, making us feel welcome and even surprising us with a complimentary side dish. Their hospitality and attention to detail made our meal truly special....
