Shiraito Falls is known as the Greatest Waterfalls in Japan. Clear water is gushing out of precipices between aged Fuji volcano layers and new Fuji volcano layers. Hundreds of falls including big and small ones flow down from 20m heigh and 150m in width curved precipices. The figure itself looks like plenty of silk yarn flowing down from the precipices. It has soft and feminine beauty that shows you the fantastic world because of the spring water from the waterfall structuring arched shape once you will see if you go close to the basin. Shiraito Falls is scenic spot and natural monument of Japan. (Selected as top 100 waterfalls in Japan in 1990.) Shiraito Falls was selected as scenic spot and natural monument in 1936. It was also chosen as "Top 100 tourism spot, The Waterfall section" in 1950. The Falls and the view have been loved by people from ancient times. It is known as a place where Kakugyo Hasegawa (the founder of Fujiko; the worship of Mt.Fuji) practiced the asceticism and a place of Fujiko pilgrimage as well.

FOR travelers from overseas I want to introduce you Japanese traditional sweets "hoshigaki " Yamanashi prefecture is famous for it's wonderful sweets hoshigaki. hoshigaki is made of japanese persimmon "Kaki " "hoshi " means " dry " "gaki" means "persimmon". so dry persimmon. Whoever being interested in Japanese tea ceremony "Sadou" would better know that the sweetness of this hoshigaki is the standerd of Japanese sweets 'Wagashi '. At Japanese tea ceremony " cha-kai " or "sadou", we enjoy Japanese sweets wagashi acanpany with green tea. and craftman makes"wagashi" to take care not to become too sweeter than "hoshigaki" nor too less sweeter than "hoshigaki". You can see there are some shops around falls . I strongly recommend you sophisticated guys! to try this hoshigaki. about 500yen or so, 3hoshigakis in one package. When I visited Siraito fall,I bought one and enjoyed it's verry creamy noble sweetness. In Yamanashi Eat as Yamanashian eat !! Good travel !!

I just loved this place, I went thrre from chiba by travelling 6 hours, but it was all worth it , the parking is cheap there, and the view of fuji from there is stunning, I was just wishing to stay there for ever, It felt unreal, the sound water falling, you can watch the fall from up standing on a bridge, but there is a path with big rocks, if you are wearing nice shoes or sneakers You can pass all through that and go down and even touch the water, we did, It was a fabulous experience, I would wish to go there, they also have public toilet and cafes , small shops are also there, they also have fuji paintings and portraits , they are beautigul you can buy them too, when we went it was about the day time , the fuji looked different like greeny, but when we retured back it was evening and the colour of fuji was changed like orange or red, I was astonished by that , I would recommend you all to go there !

Date visited: July 2023 This is one of my top favorite waterfalls in Shizuoka prefecture located in Fujinomiya. The waterfall is so magical, once you arrive here it's like you wanna stay for long that's how I felt. The falls rushing down, the clear water, the greenery..the beauty of nature at its best. This is just a few walks from the parking area which costs ¥500, but the falls itself has no entrance fee. One of the best thing on this place is that you can get a beautiful view of the majestic Mount Fuji and there is also another falls on the other side, the Otodome Falls. There are also cafes, souvenir shops and a fruit stand along the way. The place is well constructed that makes it easy to walk to have a closer look to the waterfall. Will surely visit again soon and this must be included on your must to go places here in Japan.

One of my best ever experience of a waterfall. Fully lived up to my expectations and the previous reviews that i read. Got some excellent pictures for my social media too, i would suggest to to take few carefull steps to get near to the base of the falls. This would give you some of the best shots. Access to this place is not a big issue, we drove there from Yokohama and reached there easily in 3+ hour through some great views along the road. Once you are there, you have to walk a bit to get to the spot. In between there are many view points for the falls but do not waste your time there instead keep walking and climb down the stairs to get to the main scene. There is also a national park named Shiraito national park right next to the falls, you can spend some time there too. Enjoy the beauty.

Shiraito Falls is a waterfall in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture, near Mount Fuji, Japan. It is part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and has been protected since 1936 as a Japanese Natural Monument. The falls were regarded as sacred under the Fuji cult.
