八風温泉 — Local services in Karuizawa

Went to this onsen before Golden Week and the surrounding trees were still pretty bald because of its altitude. The bathing area had about 20 spots for showering. Both outdoor and indoor baths were wide. There were two urns to bathe in, a sauna that was good for 6 people and a cold water bath outside. I would like to come back here in mid summer or in the fall, when there are leaves on the trees for sure. There is a waiting area (tables and chairs) right outside the hotel's restaurant but it is not a tatami-floored one where babies can crawl on. Great onsen - I particularly love the single tubs. They are so cool to get in and out of. The wash area is freezing cold in the winter. Otherwise this is a fabulous five star on scent second only to one other in the area. The cafe could use some free space for waiting and some vending machines...

南軽井沢のリゾートホテル、ル・グラン軽井沢の敷地内に位置する温泉で、日帰り入浴も実施している温泉施設です。 ル・グラン軽井沢の宿泊者は無料で入ることができます。

日帰り入力の料金は大人が¥1,500、子供(3-12歳)が¥750と休憩室などを設けていない温泉のみの施設としては比較的高めの設定と見受けますが、洗練された空間を作り上げるための費用やリゾートホテル内の施設ということを考えるとこの位が妥当なのかもしれません。 ちなみに割引クーポンなども軽井沢町内の別施設などで手に入れることもできます。(私は大人¥1,500→¥900となる割引チラシを手に入れて行きました)

少し暗めの脱衣所は間接照明がふんだんに使われた洗練されている大人な雰囲気。 ロッカーの数は72あり、鍵付きです。 洗面ブースは5ブースあり、ドライヤーと大きな鏡が備え付けられています。

浴室には大きな内風呂と露天風呂がそれぞれ1つずつあり、壺湯も有ります。 壺湯は2つで露天風呂側のスペースに存在し、こちら(露天風呂のスペース)にはサウナや水風呂もあります。 洗い場は内湯のスペースに有り、ブース数は18。 1つ1つのブースが比較的広く余裕があるところは流石リゾートホテル内の施設と言ったところでしょうか。 内装も全体的にダークブラウン・グレー・ダークグレーの石畳や木材を基調としたもので高級感があり格調を感じる雰囲気でした。

温泉の泉質は、ナトリウム-塩化物・炭酸水素塩温泉。（等張性中性低温泉）。 源泉の温度が30.4℃と低いため加温しています。 おおよそ温度も40℃-41℃の間と言ったところで比較的長時間でも浸かってい易い温度だと思います。 色はほぼ無色透明で若干塩分を感じました。 この温泉の特徴は炭酸水素塩泉らしいトロッとした湯の感触でしょう。 温泉自体が珍しい軽井沢の中で洗練されかつ落ち着いた雰囲気の中、このような特徴的な泉質に浸かれるのは中々に贅沢だと思います。 1点惜しいなと思う点を述べるとすれば、寒い時期を考え、建物内に小さくても良いので休憩室があったらより良かったかなと。 ともあ...
