Mt. Yashima — Local services in Takamatsu

This is the area overlooking the port of Takamatsu. The scenery isn’t the best in the world, but when I visited, I was impressed by the cozy atmosphere and detailed history engraved on various historic sites. Also, I met an old Japanese gentleman who told me that he had come here on a school excursion back in the 1950’s(戦後) and gave me a short version of his story of the area.

That is already 15 years or so ago so perhaps he passed away, but I have good memories of Takamatsu, and Yashima as well... perhaps I can even live...

屋島と隣の五剣山の間で有名な源平合戦は行われ。平家は源氏が海から攻めてくると準備していたところ。源氏は「牛が歩く沼地なら、人も渡れる」と逆から攻め入り。 那須与一は鏑矢で扇を撃ち落とし。源氏は落ちた弓を、弱弓とそしられるのを嫌がり拾ったり(笑)

昔も今も、人の世は。

そして、もっと昔。朝鮮が新羅の時代の石門城を復元されてますよ。4億5千万円かかったらしいですが。ステキです。岡山の鬼ノ城も参考にされたとか。やはりその頃は、日本と朝鮮かなりの往来があったのでしょう。

お遍路のお寺さんも拝み。瓦投げポイントも歩き、瀬戸内海から岡山、小豆島が見えました。 一つ残念なのは、海の案内図が古くなってて見えませんでしたよ。直してくださいね。
