Visited this place for some advice and the lady at the information counter was very helpful.
I was able to get a good understanding of the bus schedule. As I am departing the island on the other side to Himeji, there is a bus that I must catch in order to catch the ferry. She helped highlight the stop and timing I must catch the bus which really helped reduce the stress of looking for the timing every time. The timetable is huge and has multiple bus in it.
The bus interval here is very long and island very huge so I personally think the best form of transport here will probably be driving a car. I strongly advice non driving visitors to come as early as possible to do as much as possible on the island.
They have a baggage storage at the souvenir shop beside this building. They can only store until 4:30pm, which I think is fine for me cause I need to get on the bus to Fukuda port to Himeji around this timing anyways.
If you need longer baggage storage time, there are coin lockers at the olive bus terminal office and also some outside the souvenir shop. The olive bus terminal is the circular building across the carpark in front of the port.
You can also buy a one day ticket for 1600 yen. Sadly the price of the bus increased on the day I visited it is now roughly 500 yen to almost everywhere, previously was 300 yen.
There are also bike sharing app "Hello Cycling", power assisted bicycles all around the island, it is slightly expensive. It costs 200yen / 15min, you must return at the location specified in the app. Payment can be done through credit/debit card.
