Johari Villas — Local services in Shella ward

We've had an absolute amazing time at Johari Villas during our Christmas and New Years holiday. We were happily welcomed by the very helpful manager Eugenio who was on point from day 1 to make sure we had everything to make our stay more comfortable, he was very helpful in finding nice restaurants, bars and activities around Malindi to do as well. He was very friendly in accommodating our small dog as well who was free to roam the property without having to be leashed. Overall we really didn't have any complaints during our 10 day stay with Johari. ||The self-catered villas are of a real high standard, everything you need is available on arrival and you really just need to bring your swimming trunks and hop in the pool to enjoy yourself. Overall we had an absolute lovely time during our stay and considering the cost this property is great value for your money. ||We would recommend anyone looking for a lovely, quiet self-catered villa with a pool right at your doorstep to come to Johari villas. I had an awful experience at this place. The room was incredibly stuffy, and we found small insects on the beddings, despite the place having been supposedly fumigated for bedbugs. It was uninhabitable, so we couldn't stay there.

To make matters worse, Raymond, the agent, promised us rooms next to each other, but they were far apart. The rooms were tiny, felt neglected, and appeared as if no one had slept there for ages.

Despite multiple requests, Raymond has yet to refund the money we paid. He has been dishonest and unresponsive. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid...
