Rosada Beach & Restaurant — Restaurant in Shella ward

What a racist establishment... Learnt of their beach party from my tuktuk driver. Hyped the place to my colleagues, they had even reserved a table I arrived alittle early than the rest. I walk through the entrance, through the dining area, waiters just look at me, none says a word or relieves me. I get to the other end and just stand in the open space. One of the waiter comes over, and weirdly, I could remember him...he had served me in another establishment in a different town 5 yrs ago. I am talking to the waiter to find me a table. An old white man(was told he is boss) comes to the door facing us, sees the waiter and I talking, shouts the waiters name while point on a table in the enclosed dining area where two white people are sitting. Waiter freezes and disappears from me and goes to serve the white folks. I stand there for another 3 minutes, surprised, confused and irritated at what just happened...a white woman seated near the cashier notices my displeasure and comes over to me. And i immediately inform her of my displeasure and surprise and lack of understanding as to why the man ordered the waiter away from me. She brushes it aside and asks "how can I help you"...I tell her I needed somewhere to sit and have some food...." just then a younger white man walks in in company of an African lady and again this woman immediately abandons me, while i was still speaking, and goes to attend to...

"If you’re a young African looking for a great place to party, this might not be the spot for you. Beach parties here can feel discriminatory if you’re not white, and the bartenders often serve with an attitude. After 10 PM, drink prices double without prior notice. The DJ consistently plays old-school house music from 15 years ago. This is Kenya; visitors likely want to experience Kenyan music. Why must we wait until very late for local music to be played?

Additionally, we waited two hours for a pizza, despite repeatedly reminding our waiter about the order. When we asked for a discount on drinks due to the long wait, our request was denied. We’re looking forward to experiencing Watamu beach parties, as we’ve heard they are fair and...

Extremely rude service and bad food. I got a "grilled beef" that was boiled and tasted like fish, the manager and owner was laughing in my face when I complained. I asked for a pizza instead, that arrived after the rest of the table was finished eating. The food for the rest of our 9 person group was generally overpriced and had low quality. This place has a lot of bad reviews the last months and will go down if the owner don't change course for the service and treatment of their customers. It's like they have a not care attitude for their guests. I am a easy guest to please, during the last 35 years I have complained at a restaurant 4 times, but this place was...
