MEGA — Local services in Kaunas

Whole trip to Mega appeared to be unexpected. Our lovely aunt from Moscow, Russia, was travelling to Poland by a car right through Kaunas. So we decided that perfect place for a meet up would be shopping center MEGA. Whole building is located not in the center, but on the corner of Kaunas city, that's why it is a very comfortable spot for making a stop on the road. And also! It has a inside parking lots, which makes it comfortable visiting even in bad weather conditions. Like usually, Mega has all lithuanian shopping center essentials. From huge spaces and massive decor details (These big face sculptures on the walls of restaurant alley, the famous aquarium with sharks), to all sorts of shops and restaurants for your personal taste. You couldn't call it a Lithuanian landmark or 'must visit' place, but it is a perfect spot to understand how locals shop once in a while (I mean we like it big) or just to get some snacks and food for getting back to trip. Important to clear, that I won't go there for drinking or spending leisure time and I don't recommend it. It's just not a place suitable for such activities. But sure you can go to a bowling or billiard club, get a beer or a few other drinks. All in all, MEGA is an eye catching shopping center with massive decor elements and a great range of shops and restaurants to choose from. Visions of the Ocean - Recommended.

What makes MEGA unique is their mega-sized aquarium that is frequently mentioned by locals. An incredibly clean and well-kept tabk that is home to various types of fish. A shark was reported to be in the habitat but is no longer there, at least currently.

Expect a typical shopping centre with plenty of free parking and multiple entrances. Be prepared to walk longer distances as seating appears limited and uncomfortable for longer periods of time. Consider a route prior to the trip as maps within the shopping...

Love this shopping centre, spotless clean and so many restaurants to choose from. Though we always head to this one ** never fails. Hits the spot everytime. On many occasions we have ate here and it’s always incredible, presentation, taste, flavours and staff 👏 Mega also has A lovely cinema also with English speaking movies 🍿 🎥 book stores, smoothies you name it.
