Seabunny Scubacations (Semporna) — Local services in Borneo

Highly recommend! We first checked the homepage which is nicely made and gives a good overview. Then we went to the office. The staff was friendly and we were able to book a nice tour for the next day and try the equipment for size. The boat is in good condition and we were lucky with the weather, so the boat ride was pleasant. One of us did 1x Try scuba diving and 2× snorkeling, the other 3× snorkeling. We went to 2 islands (Mataking and Timba Timba) and 3 locations. We saw many big turtles, beautiful fishes and corrals. The last location next to Timba Timba wasn't as nice, dead corrals and less visibility (no one's fault..). The diving was great, I got a quick theory lesson on the boat before trying some things standing in the shallow water, before diving down along a coral wall. I felt secure, there was no rush or pressure, the explanations and practicing was clear and easy to follow. The snorkeling was also great fun. The equipment was in good condition. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We got (as described in the package) drinks, coffee, water, snacks (cookies and samosas?) and a packed, local lunch (chicken, rice, vegetables..). A GoPro was used to capture really nice little Videoclips and pictures. Digital payment process could be improved with a qr code or something, had to type in...

A smaller dive company but surely big on customer service!

From the airport transfer to the dives, the staff were incredibly helpful with any issues that may occur. The dives were generally pleasant and had good time management and didn't feel rushed.

Diving Instructors: Martin is a great instructor who is proactive in providing tips on your diving even during fun dives. Jessica was really talented in searching for the smallest of the aquatic animals!

Language: They are fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay while they are well versed in English.

Snorkeling: Did not snorkel but I managed to speak to their snorkeling clients and they all enjoyed their time even if some could not swim. The staff would patiently help clients in and out of the water and even help pull them along in the water (with life jackets of course).

Overall their service was superb and I would return with them in the future. (Do note that they do not have Sipadan Permits but outsource their Sipadan dives to reputable companies so there is little worry in that regard. Although I did prefer my time with Seabunny Scubacations than with the outsourced company but, to...

I was introduced to Showey (Sea Bunny) by a friend, and let me tell you, they're quick on the draw! Communication with them is a breeze. I signed up for their open water license course, which was a personalized one-on-one experience. Over three days, we embarked on boat dives, totaling 8 thrilling underwater adventures. As a complete newbie, I was a bit apprehensive at first, but their training was top-notch, boosting my confidence to dive back in with ease.

The instructor was not only responsible but also incredibly adept at preparing me for various scenarios in the ocean. And let me tell you about the team – they were an absolute blast! We shared laughs, cranked up the tunes, and soaked in the sea breeze. My time in Semporna was both the most relaxing and fulfilling experience.

And here's where Showey truly went above and beyond: when my return flight wasn't confirmed until the last minute, they swooped in and arranged an airport transfer for me. Talk about exceeding expectations!
