Had 2 fantastic dinner here upon recommendation from our Inn boss. This place is not in town but about 15 min drive from town. Most people come here to meet the chef and try his cooking as he is quite famous locally. The 1st night we decided to take a break from seafood so ordered meat dishes only and they were fantastic. Tried some local dishes and they did not disappoint. The 2nd night we bought seafood from the market in town and brought here for the chef to prepare for us. Don't eat here. Ordered a dish of fish head served in a clay pot. Quoted a price of RM 12 and showed the amount of chopped fish to be served. Fair enough I thought. At the end, the dish of shrimp rice turned out to be 4 small shrimps on a small pile of rice. The fish turned out to be less than 50% of what I have been shown. What a dishonest restaurant. 26.4.2024 Best food I tried in Semporna so far. The restaurant owner recommended us Nai mang fish 奶猛鱼 which was very delicious. I was a bit reluctant to go for it initially because of my previous experience with Sandakan style nai mang fish. Glad that I went with his recommendation.
