A Brilliant Showcase of Maltese Craftsmanship – Mdina Glass, Ta’ Qali

Mdina Glass, nestled in the heart of the Ta’ Qali Crafts Village in Malta, is a dazzling celebration of traditional glassmaking with a contemporary twist. Established in 1968, this iconic studio has long been a favourite for locals and visitors alike, offering a mesmerising display of colour, creativity, and craftsmanship.

The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a vibrant array of handcrafted glassware – from elegant vases and bowls to unique sculptures and statement lighting. Each piece is clearly made with care and attention to detail, reflecting a blend of artistry and functionality. What makes Mdina Glass particularly special is the opportunity to watch the artisans at work. The live glassblowing demonstrations are utterly captivating and give visitors a new appreciation for the skill and patience involved in the craft.

The range of designs means there’s truly something for everyone, whether you’re after a souvenir, a statement piece for your home, or a special gift. Prices are wide-ranging, so you don’t need to spend a fortune to take home a beautiful piece of Maltese heritage.

While the majority of customer experiences are overwhelmingly positive, with praise for both the variety and quality of the glass, a few have mentioned the occasional imperfection in products. It’s worth taking a little time to browse carefully and ask questions if needed – staff are generally knowledgeable and happy to help.

For those who can't visit in person, Mdina Glass also offers online shopping with international delivery, making it easy to enjoy their work from anywhere in the world.

In short, a visit to Mdina Glass is more than just a shopping trip – it's a chance to witness a timeless craft in action, and to take home a little piece of Malta’s artistic soul. Highly recommended for art lovers, collectors, or anyone looking for something...

I have been purchasing from Mdina Glass Ta’Qali, Malta, for some time now. I am located overseas. Every interaction with the staff of Mdina Glass has been a pleasure. Most recently I have communicated with Ian. Every email query is answered in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner. The goods always arrive in excellent condition, very well wrapped and secure. Mdina Glass has the most beautiful products which I have purchased for myself, family and friends. We are all delighted with the distinctive nature of their products. I highly recommend Mdina Glass to anyone wishing to purchase unique, eye-catching items whether you live locally or abroad; the staff go out of their way...

A member of staff thought it okay to laugh out load at my husband just because he is tall . She made her way from the office looked at him and laughed out loud disgusting and rude behaviour. I spoke to the management who then spoke to the lady who said she hadn't left the office! If this was the case how could I describe her ! The managements excuse was its because we laugh at her as she is short , that does not make it okay to laugh at my husband. I did buy a piece of glass because my husband has find memories of mdina glass was it upto me I wouldn't of spent a penny in there with the rude and disgraceful way my husband was treated...

It was my first time here , and in Malta as a whole and I really had a great time. A friend of mine brought me to the Mdina glass Ta‘Qali and it was a beauty to behold. The pieces were done beautifully and the staff nice and friendly. I took my time to walk around and view some of the creations and I must say they were fairly priced as well. If you find yourself in the old capital of Mdina , stop by here to pick a thing or two for yourself ✨
