I receive a lot of guests from other Moroccan cities and from other countries and I make it my mission to take them here and show them the Habbous neighbourhood in general. On a personal level whenever I get a chance I have to stop by and get the smallest bag just to taste and try a little bit of everything, it is almost a ritual. Today I was disappointed by the customer service. At first a gentleman who works there preferred to call another guy to serve me. When that guy came to me and was asked to give what I usually get when I am just walking the neighbourhood or just had a breakfast at the famous cafe "next door". He acted as if he is the one paying for my pastries and giving me what he wants not what I want. I had to correct him twice. I find that rather very mediocre customer service. No seating options and it looks confusing initially. You follow the waft of pastries and a queue of people into the narrow pastry shop. When it's your turn, one of the staff will start swiftly folding and lining a paper box 📦
You jostle among the others in front of you who are still choosing, and start pointing 👉 at the pastry items you want, gesturing how many of each you need.
When you're done pointing, navigate through the sea of people in the narrow shop who are still making up their minds how many dozens more they want, and make your payment based on an elaborate scheme of weight and number of premium items you chose.
