The Nasi Goreng with toppings is delicious and easily the best Indonesian food you can get outside of Indonesia. Really authentic food that tastes just like its made in Indonesia. Servings are huge, so if you’re not too hungry, heat up half and save some for later or share it!

Many of the negative reviews here comment on one of the owner’s attitude, which I also experienced but he mostly appeared to be cheeky and not outwardly mean. Makassar sells tasty and well prepared take away meals. But the real winner here are their snacks. Their home made indonesian snacks are the best in the Amsterdam area. Definitely try their: risolles, kroket and martabak chicken. Note: expect a line during rush hours.

One of the owners / personnel (one of the old guys) can be snarky and grumpy, but the rest is helpful and nice.
