We kept seeing the mountain from a far and kept wondering what was there the whole time. We finally decided to drive there to check it out. When I first saw the many steps I thought I wasn’t going to make it to the top because I spent the day doing water sports. I got to the location at 5:25. Sunset was at 6:11 that day. So we rushed up the stairs and was getting sweaty and tired but kept going. There are many trees and cactus on the mountain which made it full of life and beautiful. You can tell it was a volcano by how the rocks looked. We got to the top and we’re mesmerized by the view and the sunset. It was simply magical. I highly recommend but be prepared to put in some effort. Good luck!

The peak has some interesting and excellent views of the island. This was an interesting hike. There is a very long staircase from the bottom to the peak. It was placed there in the 1950's and refurbished in the 1990's, if I have my info correct. The stairs are in good shape, but there is a handrail present for only the bottom 1/2 of the climb. There are side areas to step onto and rest at regular intervals on the handrail bottom 1/2. There's also a gazebo to rest at at about the 1/2 way point. That being said, this is not a climb for out of shape people. It is a 0.0 for disabled people. If you can get to the top, the view is worth the effort.

Very scenic hike up. This hike is definitely a lot harder than we expected it to be. We’re in pretty decent shape, and I like to hike frequently and the hike up took it out of us. Definitely be prepared with a water bottle and sunscreen. Take rests on the way up. The steps don’t feel bad at first and it’s easy to get started but after a while you’ll regret not pacing yourself and taking breaks. We took breaks to enjoy the scenery and watching the lizards that would run across the steps.
