PLUS Paul Schipper — Local services in Gouda

I come here very often for my groceries and for the PostNL service point. I consider it a mid/high-priced supermarket, comparable to Albert Heijn and Jumbo. For additional comparison: Spar City is also very close to Gouda Station, but very expensive. Plus is an average sized store which carries most household items, and a small selection of organic, fair trade, vegetarian and vegan products as well.

There is also a "kiosk" on the side of the building where you can get some snacks without entering the store.

The parking lot is behind the building and requires you to drive around it via some side streets, but there is a passage between the parking structure and the store for pedestrians.

Because there are several schools surrounding the store and I expect they have encountered some complaints and/or shoplifting, they have installed a rule that only a few pupils at once are allowed to enter and they must leave their bags at the front. If you encounter a short line of young adults outside, it is probably a school lunch break, but if you aren't a student you can just...

In deze Plusmarkt heerst een zeer onaangename sfeer. Het apparaat voor vers sinaasappelsap is zo vies dat er voortdurend fruitvliegjes in je flesje ronddwalen. De kwaliteit van groenten en fruit laat te wensen over, terwijl de prijzen hoog zijn. Die corpulente vrouwelijke medewerker (die een soort leidinggevende rol heeft?) gedraagt zich super arrogant en klantonvriendelijk, gaat ook constant de discussie aan met klanten.. wat de winkelomgeving nog onaangenamer maakt. Bij de zelfscan kassa's moeten klanten soms lang wachten, en die corpulente medewerker lijkt privégesprekken belangrijker te vinden dan de service, en laat je gerust nog 3 minuten langer staan. Nadat de winkel open is sta je vaak alsnog een half uur te wachten eer dat er vers brood beschikbaar is.

Als tip voor de franchisehouder.. als je niet in staat bent volledig toegewijd te ondernemen en de klanten het beste te bieden, overweeg dan alsjeblieft om het ondernemerschap te beëindigen en ruimte te maken voor iemand anders.. je loopt er zelf namelijk ook niet heel gemotiveerd bij. Een positieve instelling en de juiste manier van je werknemers managen kan deze Plus misschien nog redden, maar ik heb er een zwaar hoofd in.

Kortom, de winkelervaring in deze supermarkt is bijzonder onplezierig, maar het feit dat het de dichtstbijzijnde optie is voor mij, maakt het soms lastig om...
