Roompot Beach Villa's Hoek van Holland — Local services in Rotterdam

The houses – I don't feel like calling them villas – are of high quality and by that I mean their structure as well as their interior.|We never heard our direct heighbours, even though we shared a wall. In our option we had a good wifi-connection and slept quite well in the beds. The bathroom and shower is enjoyable and of course don't forget about the wonderful view right onto the north sea.|Being in the front sleeping room you will hear the waves coming in through the night but to|us, it was a soothing sound and did not bother us at all.|Don't be afraid of wind or bad wheather. We had winds of force up to 10 and 11 on the beaufort scale and the houses can survive that quite well. Yes, they do shake and it is loud but you don't need to be afraid as long as you do not leave the appartment in these situations.||In other people's review I read about smelling the industry of the port facilities nearby, but luckily we did not experience such things. Booking in the winter weeks is a bit of lottery to still have some nice weather, but on the other side you do not have many people on the beach and around you. Some of the beach restaurants are still open and many are recommendable. We had a wonderful time and are happy to have stayed at Hoek van Hollands beach.|If there is something I would like to see, it is a reduction of the amount of free running dogs on the beach, but that is hardly something Landal...

I would highly advise you against booking a room here. To say the least, you might as well book a room at a port directly because that is essentially what you are looking at if you book a house past number 50.

The noise and air pollution from this massive port construction is incredibly disgusting. It is so loud not only at night, but when you are lucky and the wind is just right, you get all the gasses and fumes directly into your house. These can make you incredibly sick, and are extremely dangerous to breathe in. At night, huge container ships go past the “villas” and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Besides this, their service is terrible. Not only does this so called “resort” engage in unfair consumer marketing, by directly misrepresenting their “villas” on their website, but they also do not mention anywhere that the “villas” are situated directly next to the port.

We will be reporting them to the EU consumer authority, as the service people A. Did not want to hear our complaint, but tried to make us fill in a survey through their website to submit their complaint. But furthermore, charged us 100% of the costs.

I cannot explain how much we looked forward to the holiday that they advertised on their website, but what they are advertising is a...

Wenn man nach Hoek van Holland fährt, weiss man zwar, dass man nicht in den grünen Wald fährt, aber man rechnet auch nicht damit, dass die Chemieabgase der gegenüberliegenden Anlagen fast ständig in die Richtung der Strandhäuser wehen. Statt frischer Meeresbrise kann man eine Nase voll Chemieabgase bei Westwind nehmen und der Wind kommt fast nur aus Westen.

Der Himmel ist Lichtverseucht. Dunkelheit hat man Nachts keine durch die enorm helle Beleuchtung der gegenüberliegen Industrieanlagen.

Die Häuser haben von der Rückseite aus gesehen den Charm von Gefängnisblocks. Hässlicher kann man kaum Strandhäuser gestalten.

Man liebt es ja oft "schön schmuddelig" in Holland. Schlecht bezahlte und lustlose Putzfrauen tun das ihrige dazu: Eine Aussicht auf den Strand vom Sofa aus kann man vergessen, wenn man nicht selbst Hand anlegt und erstmal die Scheiben putzt.Auf dem Sofa liegt noch der Sand.

Der Fussboden des Strandhauses ist eiskalt und mangelhaft isoliert. Wenn man sitzt hat man ganz schnell einen kalten Rücken und Hintern.

Das Konzept von Landal ist einfach: Man kauft ein Stück Strand gegenüber von Chemieanlagen, dass keiner haben will, baut ein paar billige enge Doppelhaushälften drauf und streut ein paar manipulierte positive Bewertungen im Internet und schon lässt sich auch derartiger Müll vermieten.

Vor den Häusern ist der Hauptspazierweg der Einheimischen Bevölkerung. Entsprechend oft bekommt man gnadenlos ins Fenster gestarrt. Schaut man sich die Klientel im Ort Hoek van Holland an, weiss man weshalb hier recht viel ein Sicherheitsdienst patroulliert und die Umgebung stark mit Kameraüberwachung abgesichert ist.

Die Einrichtung der Häuser ist spartanisch und billig, die Technik funktioniert, wenn überhaupt, nur mangelhaft. Dies konnten wir bei unserem Auftenthalt feststellen:

Lauter Kühlschrank, Hörbar sogar im Schlafzimmer.

Die Küchen-Dunstabzugshaube funktionierte überhaupt nicht.

Eine Kochstelle funktionierte überhaupt nicht ( Flamme ging sofort wieder aus )

Das Internet wird mit ca. 100 kb/sec bereitgestellt, obwohl Glasfaserkabel vor Ort liegt und auch das TV mit 2 mbit über IPTV angebunden ist. Hier wird offensichtlich von Landal reklementiert und gespart. Schnelles Internet kann man vergessen.

Gegängelt wird der gut zahlende Kunde durch Landal auch bei Benutzung der sonstigen Technik im Haus : Der TV ist durch die "Hotelsperre" so eingestellt, dass keine Fremdgeräte über die Eingänge abgespielt werden können und noch nicht einmal Teletext funktioniert.

Der TV im Schlafzimmer funktionierte erst überhaupt nicht.

Im elektrischen Anschlussraum wurde ein Abluftventilator installiert, dieser war bei Ankunft aus der Steckdose gezogen,wir schenkten dem keine weitere Beachtung. Nach Besuch eines "Technikers" war plötzlich ein lautes elektisches Brummgeräusch zu hören. Der Landal-Techniker war zwar nicht in der Lage kein einzigen der beschrieben Mängel zu reparieren, steckte aber den Stecker des Abluftventilators wieder ein,ohne zu bemerken, dass dieser sich überhaupt nicht mehr drehte, sondern nur laut brummte, da er offensichtlich defekt war. Ob dieser Defekt nicht letztendlich zu einem Schmorbrand geführt hätte wollten wir nicht abwarten und zogen den Stecker wieder raus.
