I love that place... It is magic. I use to go there with my man when we want to have a walk and we always stop because it is simply beautiful. Probably the feeling is not shared when it is open for the boats by the car drivers but... Well that is their problem 🤣

Deze op-en-top fotogenieke brug is met zijn laatste levensjaar bezig. Als alles goed gaat, wordt deze in het vroege voorjaar van 2021 (jan/maart) vervangen door een opvolger waarvan het ontwerp zoveel mogelijk aansluit op het historisch ontwerp van de bestaande brug. Deze heeft dan de respectabele leeftijd van 92 jaar gehaald, heel wat boten en bootjes zien passeren, auto's, fietsen en paard-en-wagens over zich heen gehad, maar heeft inmiddels zoveel gebrekjes en gebreken dat vervanging de enige optie is. Dus tabee, vaarwel, auf wiederseh'n, goodbye!

Geweldige plek om van de omgeving te genieten: de Vecht en alles wat voorbij vaart, de schitterende gebouwen in de omgeving (aan beide zijden van de Vecht) en het ‘gedoe’ van wandelaars, fietsers en auto’s als de brug open en weer dicht gaat. Op de foto's is te zien dat de Vecht hier...
